I was able to score 25 in my writing even though I did not get enough time to re read my passage and I made some silly grammatical mistakes. I think the use of colon, comma and semi colons helped me. Thank you for these videos Yash, just one day before my exam I saw this and was able to use punctuations affectively.

Hi Yash, I have a few questions. First, you tell in this video to take care of punctuation and spacing of them. I get that but can you please tell if the TOEFL graders do really give importance to punctuations like semicolon, coma, etc., and spaces before and after coma and we may get less score because of that. Second, are determiners like a, an and the equally important. Please answer.
@YashMittraYMGrad
@YashMittraYMGrad 4 жыл бұрын
Aayushi Khandelwal in my experience, they do care about the punctuation. Same goes for the determiners. All aspects are tested, and you should take care of as many as you can. I can't compare the relative importance though because I don't think I qualify to comment on how ETS exactly decides to grade you.

I agree, the first time I took the TOEFL was 2020, December 19. I only managed to score a 62 overall when teachers predicted me a 90+. I guess a large portion of my final results indirectly contributes to my lack of effort and discrete timing. I can also say for the most part I was cocky and one week before the test I was procrastinating and doing ignorant things. So I can only say to those out there, never underestimate anything in life.
