And in reverse I have found that deniers of reality lose their sense of smell… Oddly I have been on my scent journey real strong for the past couple of months! I use tea light diffusers, incense sticks and cones & scented baths & oils!! Let’s gooooo! Thanks for sharing your scent process ❤️✨🙏🏾💯

Oh, that’s fascinating! I can definitely see how if you’re disassociating, you’d basically just shut off your scent processing.

@@fromjenn I watched it in real time. Apparently the loss of smell is also associated with dementia 😞 This generation is facing things and ourselves like never before. This is good. The truth will make us free 🕊️ Muah 💋🥰

Jenn, i have to be careful with scents & smells as some act as scary triggers for me, & others can cause me to have headaches &/or nausea (most annoying). I have a cat & worry qjite a lot with how my home smells (i hate the smell of her cat food as it makes me feel really billious, so husband feeds her in the kitchen with the door shut). My daughter's home always smells nice (she has two cats & a dog, too), & she uses diffusers, air fresheners, & scented candles. I have some scented candles (i particularly like the spiced Chrismassy ones) & i have a reed diffuser. I've tried plug-ins & room sprays but they are all too strong for me to bear, (& i'm concious of not wasting electricity as energy bills have rocketed here since the start of the pandemic). Like you, i can't tolerate laundry products, esp fabric softeners, as i suffer from ecsema & psoriasis. I have finally found, after many years searching, one particular soap which doesn't affect my hands - i can't use it on my body, however, & can only use epaderm presribed by the doctor as a moisturiser. I found one antiperspirant/deoderant which i can tolerate which is for sensitive skin &acrually meant for men - goodness knows what i'll do if the manufacturer changes it in some way of withdraws it. I have to use nstural unbleached tissues & toilet paper. As for regular perfume (eau de parfum), i have found a few i like (hypnotic poison, obsession, poem, & loulou) but i spray them on my hair or scarf to avoid contact with my skin. I always have to avoid scented aisles in shops & garden centres as i can start sneezing & my eyes will start watering. It really is all most annoying as i like different smells. The worst one for me is lavender because i really like it but it causes such a bad headache & nause. I love to smell fruits, flowers & trees when i'm out in nature, & natural 'farm' smells don't bother me as i grew up with them in the Cotswolds - i particularly like the smell of horses as they were my life until i had my bad riding accident which messed up my spine. However, eventhough i grew up with chickens & really like them as animals, i really don't much like their smell when their environment isn't regularly cared for! Thanks for your interesting vlog - i can see how scent can be used to promote mental health & wellbeing. I, personally, haven't found a scent to date which calms me down or wards off depression, bit i'll keep looking - ucalyptus can be quite soothing when i have a cold, so i suppose that'd the nearest.

Belle, I’m guessing very natural scents (like real trees) might be your soothing scents. I have a cat too and the smell of cat food and litter box are a constant nuisance. I had to train my husband not to throw away empty cat food containers in the bathroom because cat food + small enclosed room was just awful and that can isn’t emptied as often as the kitchen.
