Hello, I created this video to animate how drills work. Hope the animation makes it easier to visualize the difference. I used the most basic design principles to animate. Thank for watching!

You know. I’ve been working with these tools for just shy of 15 years. I’ve understood what the differences are and what tool as best for what job and why. But I’ve never taken the time to understand how they work. That cleared it up. Very cool.

Upgraded from an older 18v kit. kzfaq.infoUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

I though he said, "Today in this video I will show you how girls work!!!" I thought, 'Great!!! Finally someone is going to explain them!' And especial how they impact us.

Hi, can you elaborate on what exactly makes the drill not spin while changing whatever you want to put on it? There must be some kind of mechanical brake that prevents you from spinning the motor manually right? (or is the planetary gearbox enough so that you could never spin such a gear-ratio manually?)

Impact "Drill" is self explanatory (to me anyways) but I still don't understand the what or the why of the hammer function on the Eleventeen hundred Drills I own/have owned.

i think this video does not contain the latest battery power tool hammer drills with 2,2 joule power , they have a vertical compartiment placed under the mid, and the battery is behind that, so to say this shape: ***| |**\ (the stars are horizontal lines) |__| __|

4:10 what's the difference between green and red drill if both can do hammering why two different mechanism??
@adamperry46102 жыл бұрын
the red drill (properly called an impact torque wrench/driver) the hammer is used to rotate the bit. while the hammer drill the impact is used to push the bit into the material its drilling in.

Very good video, I love the animations. The only thing I would change is that the first machine it's not an impact drill mechanism, it's an impact driver or wrench. It's not really for drilling. Anyway I think it's very instructive. Thank you
@adamperry46102 жыл бұрын
to be fair they are often used for drilling now, alot of drill bits (spade, twist, hole saw) some with a 1/4" hex impact end shaft

This is an impact driver, not an impact drill; and also it's impact drill and not a hammer drill. This will confuse a lot of people...

This is not a hammer drill, it is rotary hammer.
