Charles Leclerc is regarded as the QUICKEST current driver over 1 lap. He may have had a tough time in the early races but he seems to be back in the last 2 races

He’s very fast but is he very consistent? Will be interesting to see where he finishes in the race.

Look at his results since the season break last year for your answers, all top 5 if I'm not mistaken, apart from the DSQ in USA and DNS in Brazil, average quali position of around 3.6 and average race position the exact same.

@@orio_3 You're right, ignoring DNF / DNS / DSQ for both Carlos and Charles since the start of 2023 to Miami 2024, Charles has scored higher points on average and has a lower standard deviation i.e. is more consistent. Looking at just 2024, and ignoring Sainz' DNS, average is about the same, but Sainz' standard deviation is higher ie. less consistent, he's had a win, but also more 5ths. Charles is just very unlucky, 5 non finishes in 2023!

Carlos looked faster in the race. Also it sounds like you are saying trail-braking is when you use the throttle and brake at the same time, I don't think you meant to say this (I think you meant he is using throttle and trail braking) but. it sounds like that whats you mean. Can I ask what your credentials are for analyzing driver telemetry like this?

Hey James - thanks for that. Zero credentials. If you look at one of our earlier videos we said we’re just learning it So comments like this are helpful. In terms of trail braking specifically I used the definition from driver61 driver61.com/uni/trail-braking/ And yeh I was trying to talk about turn in hence the arrows pointing to the first braking moment on the trace Thanks again!
