00:01 Session length is crucial for vertical jump gains and injury prevention. 01:58 Sessions should be around 30-40 minutes with 80% warm up and 20% all out jumps. 06:10 Balancing neural fatigue and avoiding pain during sessions is crucial. 08:07 Gradually increase session time for vertical jump gains. 11:50 Session length varies based on weight and strength levels 13:43 Sessions of 45 minutes to an hour can lead to increased output and gains in vertical jump. 17:16 The longer the jump session should be for beginner and healthy athletes. 18:55 Balancing jump sessions and rest is key for vertical jump gains. 00:00 Session length affects vertical jump gains Crafted by Merlin AI.

8:25 Interesting concept about building a reserve of tendon capacity. Back in August of 2023, I was dealing with a pretty severe case of pfp which limited how often and long I could jump. I was back to hard weight room workouts without any pain the next day while jumping 1 x a week after about 4 months. After about 3 months I was able to handle jumping 2 x a week and hard lifting without any pain. Recently my vertical has been starting to skyrocket! I've been on THP for almost a year and a half, it's been the best investment I've made for my athletic goals!

I do 3 jump workouts a week. I start the first 2 of the week dunking outdoors for 25-45 mins depending on the cycle and then I lift 25-45 mins. Then I have a 45 minute to hour dunk session for the last workout of the week. I’ve noticed that my medium range dunks ALWAYS increase right before my max approach dunks do, and is a good sign I’m about to PR

I would say I probably spend 30-40 minutes actually doing all out jump attempts. I spend a full hour on my jump time, but about 20 minutes of that is warm up. I don't track the time of jumping though. I cut it when my ability to jump my highest starts to wane.

In general, how long should we rest between jump attempts?
@juventude22
@juventude22 Ай бұрын
As for now my sessions are taking about 30 min or so. But I do not really keep track of how many jumps I take, or how many like medium effort and max effort jumps I take. I think that should have been addressed. I usually try to take an approach of about 80% RPE jumps throughout the sessions and once and a while an actual max jump (I can barely touch rim). I usually and up the session when I cannot touch rim anymore than like 1/3 of the times I try to go for it. My goal is to get a one foot dunk, but I have to admit I am better at two legs jump, so once I get tired of one leg jumping I focus on two legs.

You once said if you wanna have a PR jump you gonna jump a lot and take them off and then you're going to have your best jumping day, so i mean is it okay to do that couple of time and push the hell of those jumping session?

Do you just feel fatigued almost constantly during a hard cycle or do you just recover really efficiently because I feel as though your volume of weight room sessions is really high

How many time we should rest between jumps? And how this time changes from warmup to the end of the session? Thank you!
@Karaage_

John said at an earlier time anywhere from 45 seconds to 3 minutes - If I recall correctly, John rests 45 seconds, Isaiah rests 1 minute, and Jordan Kilganon rests 3 minutes, anything more than 5 minutes is probably excessive.

So outside of warming up your max effort jumps are usually only 15-30 mins long? because most of that 1 to 1.5 hours has to be warming up
@IsaiahRivera1
@IsaiahRivera1 Ай бұрын
Nah the warm up is like 10-15 minutes(going from cold to 100% effort jumps), and then about an hour of max effort jumping

Kind of unrelated, but should you hoop right after lifting? Usually, I lift on 3 days a week, then practice in the gym after lifting.
