@vincentdeleon4092 5 күн бұрын
@@mrworldwiderasict1503yeah but if you get stronger, you should be progressing in weight. Meaning more rest time, so overall rest times shouldn’t change very much. There’s no one right answer for anything as well, some people recover faster than others. Some people benefit from both longer and shorter rest times depending on the muscle group. It’s all about how you use them. Shorter times for building endurance, longer if you’re training heavy it’s not a huge difference in the long run unless you’re training very seriously and optimizing everything to compete.

Guys dont think in boxes. 2-3 minutes in general is good for hypertrophy since you are fully recovered. If you are very fit though with good cardiovascular system, you could start the next set earlier if you are not heavy breathing anymore. But in general, if you push a set close enough to failure, you shouldnt be able to push hard in less than 2 minutes because this means something was wrong with your intensity in the previous set. Also don't think you should always have to do 3 and 4 sets in each exercise. If you push hard enough you can do 2 or even 1 set per exercise in some cases. Just be sure to calculate your weekly volume of sets P.S. exception for all of this are small muscle groups like: side delts, biceps, calves in which you might be able to go after even 1 minute, because they are usually not so fatiguing for your nervous system 😉

It’s actually shorter for hypertrophy sets, it’s generally around 1-2 minutes, we prescribe 90s as a general rule. When you get closer to strength training lower reps, 6 lower that’s where you would start resting for longer than 2 or 3 minutes.
@PropertyTrippers
@PropertyTrippers 3 күн бұрын
@user-dt1rp4ic1x if you train like a beginner girl yeah it could be...but there is no such thing as lower reps. 5-30 reps gives the same hypertrophic result if you are training hard enough. If you train hard there is no way you can go in 1 minute into the set. Start reading more bro. What you are saying is totally outdated

Yeah machines less so for sure because if you have to share it’s easier to setup your weight and seat height. I’ll avoid it if I can though just personally like to focus on the task in hand rather worrying about timing my rests with someone else and then working on a different muscle group which i feel takes you out of the mind to muscle zone. Also I had a bad experience with an entitled super setter who clearly had roid rage and possibly a small penis as a result both of which I publicly addressed. Luckily there were some level headed people there to diffuse the situation, the guy was unnaturally large.

Big fax, though it gets a bit awkward when other people want to work in with you😅

thats sooo true. if i rest only 1 min or even less, i rly get fast exausted again and dont have the power to complete the set. but if i rest 2-3 min i have much more power and can put it full into the set.

Depends on the specific goal or adaptations you are seeking. But for hypertrophy, generally I do until I feel ready enough that I can hit the same number of reps for the next set. Depends on the exercise that I'm doing and intensity as well. 2-3 minutes is usually good enough, but sometimes it is better to not over think it and do what your body is telling you This is a good guideline, but make sure to tweak it and not hyperfocus on the time rested. You will get a better feel of your body as you continue working out.

I usually get my heartrate down about 100 before doing next set.

I think this one is less of an absolute than some of your other videos. For some things like squats or bench press, definitely rest for 2 or so minutes, but for curls, I like to take less time and really keep the intensity of the pump going. Crazy burn.

When your cardio, mind, and supporting muscles are ready, you're ready. If that's 45 seconds or 4-5 minutes, doesn't matter.

I started an online weight training class and the rests were between 45 seconds to 2 minutes. I just felt awkward waiting through those rest periods while others around me took only like 20-30 seconds. This videos makes me feel better about what I'm doing! Thanks! ❤

This completely confirms my theory that shirts hide the gains. With a shirt, he doesn't even lift. In a tank, lifting for 8 years.

It makes me so happy that this is actually something that isn’t wrong. I felt guilty for taking 2-4 minute breaks in between sets, not anymore👏🔥

This definitely. If you're done with your set take a break longer than you think you need. You don't want to injure yourself. Working out is a marathon not a sprint.
