These rates are low. My friend is a self-employed electrician and he charges $140 an hour ($268.000 a year, minus a little overhead and taxes.) The union pays around $50 an hour with benefits.

@@teenb302 That's about what they're charging around Seattle. I'm a tile guy and I make around $800 - $1000 a day. That's around $100 an hour. Seattle, Portland and San Francisco pays well but housing prices are sky high. Expensive to live on the west coast.

@@bluewaves2539 I don't know how much they charge but I have a friend who does drywall and he owns a home, a 2021 lifted truck, a work van and a bmw for his wife. He seems to be doing pretty good. There's a ton of drywall work right now. Employees don't make much though....There are a lot of broke guys who do drywall and construction in general. It varies. Some people are successful and some people work cheap and stay stuck in life.

Don't let the 15-20 an hour deter you from becoming an Electrician. I will tell you now you newbies that you can work your way up and eventually Project managers and Inspectors. These can pay day rates at and you can make 200k a year (with overtime of course). There are jobs that can pay 75 an hour and it depends where you go. You will learn this once you get into the trade and make your way up and establish a good career network. You get into the commissioning portion with a major corporation and work overseas you can easily make 300+ a year. Establish good work ethic and you will never be out of a job. Always learn on your personal time. Don't be one of those people that only allow themselves to learn what the company provides because you will always have to make self investment. This is coming from someone with 17 years in the industrial industry.

For what is required of electricians, journeyman should be making at least $85,000 base. It takes years of dedication to even be able to understand and safely apply the knowledge over at least the past 4 years.

Are the specialization salaries a median or base-pay statistic? Some of those numbers are counterintuitive to me: $36k for an avionics technician seems rather low -- It's also lower than marine technician at $45k, which makes me realize there must be way more money flowing thru the oceans than the skies. I've been doing a lot of research as I am in an "electrical & automation technology" program at my local community college and trying to understand the roadmap of possibilities. Thanks for the video :)

I needed this video.. I live in Slovakia where average electrician wage per hour is around 4-9€ per hour.. it's really underrated job here and I think I should move out and do my work somewhere where ppl can really "pay" or apreaciate work of an electrician. How long does it take to be really good electrician? Just a question for my better view :) I already study electrician vocational school so I know some basics ^^ thank you for answer.

There's no set time on becoming a " Good Electrician " I know electricians who have been in the business for 20 years n they don't know anything. There's all types of work as well....A person could do Commercial work for years and wont know how to wire up a home. So it all depends. You'll learn something new all the time. A way that someone else works might be quicker and more efficient than the way you work. My opinion......I would say about 10-15 years to at least have a good idea about the trade....There's so much involved with being an Electrician so that question is quite hard to answer lol

Can you get these incomes by being an electrical engineering technician?
@robd1859
@robd1859 2 жыл бұрын
An electrical engineer is basically a master electrician with a college degree he not only can wire pretty much anything but he can also architectural edesign where all the panels and wiring is going to be on blueprint not to mention also can put applications in two computers that run big major machines in plants. My dad was an electrical engineer and had a master electrician's license. It's just a master electrician with a college degree basically. PS I hate the word technician. I hear some people want to call electricians technicians or mechanics technicians and they're not. A technician in my opinion is like a little Hood technician at Express Oil Change that changes your oil and your air filter and check the air in your tires. Because an actual ASE Frontline certified Master Mechanic is what works on your car not an automotive technician. Piece✌️

Bruh idk where you get your numbers from but in 8 years already earning six figures quadrupled my gfs salary and she has her masters degree. Two days of over time pay for me is equal to her 2 week paycheck lol. TRADES ARE THE FUTURE, they’re basically what use to be taught in all universities until they removed it from the curriculum and fooled the middle class into thinking the only way to get a job is with a degree. Despite the plethora of evidence that says otherwise, look at the richest most successful people, no degree dropouts. Should tell you that Uni teaches 😂 is only a measure of perseverance.

You're about to run that word technician in the ground. I hate the word technician. It makes the person sound like they don't really have much intelligence. For example, Express oil change. Hires "Hood technicians" But they have master mechanics working in the back shop. The word technician just does not sound very good. Like avionic technation that sounds so stupid. Just say Avionic's mechanic. It just sounds like they actually have an education. And you're showing salaries that are like 30 some odd thousand. And nobody is interested in a job that's that low of paying. And don't use the word marine technician. Just say Marine mechanic. This makes them sound like they've actually got an education. Your trying to sound uppity . But saying the word Technician just makes you sound stupid. And it makes the person you're talking about sound like they're not real intelligent.
