How Much My Vertical Increased In 30 Days // In this video I test my vertical jump after 30 days of training. Long story short, I am a basketball coach and trainer who has allowed himself to get out of shape. This video is documenting my first month of training and showing you the progress that I have made in my broad jump, double broad jump, vertical jump, and body fat levels. Enjoy!

In the process of recovering from a torn meniscus - probably a month out before I can actually start jumping around. Would be happy to be guinea pig for your new prehab program - and happy to pay for it of course! I might be an interesting test case - I'm an older dude (44), and just before I got hurt, was still able to dunk off of a lob at 6'.
@NathanaelMorton
@NathanaelMorton 5 ай бұрын
Wow able to dunk off a lob at 44 is impressive at any height. 6’ is wild!! Great work. I’d love for you to give it a try! I’ve been using it with a few athletes that I coach online and they’re seeing excellent results. If you shoot me an email at nathanaelmortoncoaching@gmail.com I can get you on the program. It’s finished, just not all the bells and whistles and exercise demos that I want to have before I release it. But we’ll get you on it 💪🏼

Hey man love the video. I've been thinking about doing a jump program for a while but there are so many I haven't decided which one. Would love to jump on your newest one and get bouncy! I can already dunk of lobs at 5'9" (30 yrs old) but I want to get crazy bounce and start going crazy in my adult league games. And above all I wanna dunk for the first time in game. For some reason I can't dunk with the ball going up but I feel like that could change with a few more inches on my vertical. I'm in good shape been 160lbs since high school, just looking to get to that next level!

If you wanted to start now and not wait, email me at nathanaelmortoncoaching@gmail.com and I’ll let you in before everyone else gets to it. Only missing a few exercise demos but there’s a private message group for any questions if you need. Let’s get it! P.S - Dunking at 5’9 30 years old is impressive!! Excellent work brother 🤝

I wanted to ask you a question. During a mesocycle dedicated to improving power for the vertical jump what progression pattern should be used, for example if I am doing a squat at 50% of 1RM for 5 reps the next week how should I progress? On the other hand, in exercises such as the Jump box, if I did 5 reps with the box one meter high the next week, how do I progress? PS:I respect you

Any advice for programming explosive training for a high school program with guys that play multiple sports? My thoughts were to focus on improving raw strength (5x5 squat, and 3x12 ham curls twice per week) during other seasons while hitting low rep max effort jumps and short sprints maybe 10 jumps and a few sprints from baseline to half court to work on first step 2 or 3 times per week, and allowing the sport they are playing to take care of most of the volume plyometric work. Then allowing summer to be a time where we increase max effort jumps and sprints and focus on maintenance lifting maybe one lifting session per week 5x3 at 80 percent for the main lift and 2x10 on an accessory lift.
@NathanaelMorton
@NathanaelMorton 5 ай бұрын
That’s a great plan, although summer can be a bit higher volume (totally up to you but that’s just what I’ve found). When the kids can sleep as much as their body needs to sleep, their recovery is MUCH higher. Summer is where I stress my guys the most (stress as in training stress). Your in season plan sounds great.

How do you feel about having too much muscle in the chest and it's affect on a max attempt jump? I know a certain percentage of a jump comes from the ability to throw the arms back and up (Maybe 10%?) Regardless, today, I noticed a strange tightness in my upper chest triggered by training a seated position into a penultimate step and jump. I'm wondering if you've ever experienced/fixed that. Also, new to the channel. So hi!

Love that! It's actually 'pretty much' done, just finishing up all of the exercise demonstrations! If you wanted to access the program now you could. You'd just have to sign up for the $40/month plan that I have. If not, you can wait until it's completely finished (although if you got in now I'd keep you on the cheaper plan so it might be beneficial for you).
