Every time I travel from the office to home, I always look into Dhobikhola and try to observe it closely, thinking about whether it will ever be possible to revive this river. There is a direct outlet from households, offices, and sewers that lead wastewater into Dhobikhola. First of all, we need to make a proper long-term plan that includes avoiding direct mixing of wastewater into the river, establishing treatment plants, implementing a proper sewer system, and conducting awareness campaigns. I have heard about the Bagmati cleaning campaign since I was a child, yet it is still becoming more and more dreadful.

Thank you @ProjectKura for bringing up this issue. I always wonder about this thing and it really hurts so much seeing the rivers like this growing up here in Kathmandu. I remember people swimming in Bagmati and all Rivers around Kathmandu. And seems like it is not just Kathmandu but all over the country, the condition is getting worse. If the rivers can be same like before then we all must work together and government should really work on making peoper drainage, sewage system, stop the current industrial/ domestic waste and more advocacy and education is needed. Hope Everyone will Wake Up! I kindly request you all to not just watch this video but also take action in whatever way you can. We can all do it if we come together as one.

I go to my workplace every morning using the roads of bagmati and bishnumati corridor. It makes me sad that how helpless we are and irresponsible i must say also that i along with 40 lakhs inhabitants of ktm valley are responsible for this chaotic condition of these rivers.

The biggest reason about water pollution is poor waste and sewage management and public awareness. First of all, we should strictly stop those people and companies who directly throw sewage and wastes. They should be highly fined and it would be better if we citizens take responsibility towards the people. If we saw anyone throwing garbages in river, we should step ahead and scold them. The old generation has done a lot of pollution, now it's us who is gonna save our country. We haven't thought what is the situation of our Nepal. Seriously, we are poor in managing mother nature. Like, we proudly say Nepal is rich in water resources but what have we done to protect it. Our country has so much to offer but we betrayed our country. Think about it, as a individual what have you done for Nepal?
