I’ve owned this drill for +8 years and have had zero issues with it. Still has tons of power and is still going strong. I am a home owner DIYer. Worth the money all day long.

Just bought the Milwaukee 7 piece set . This is the drill that was included. Paid $499, needed a decent set of tools for DIY projects hope they hold up. Nice review, thanks👍🏻

Got this drill and the impact in a kit for work about a month ago. I’m an A/V tech so I’ve been using this to wire houses for cat6, speakers, etc and hang TVs. Honestly it’s been pretty good so far. A 5.0 battery will last for like 2-3 days of work easily.

I have one of these, my dad is an electritian and he passed it down to me. Its been basically to hell and back again, and its still going strong for me. Never stalled it, never had it even bog down on me. Absolutely love it, both for how amazing of a tool it is and for how long I've had it (it legit has sentimental value to me)

Right on. I just won this driver at my companies Christmas give away. Just trying to get some info on it here. (Too lazy to read the manual) Keep in mind that most of these manufactures make different grades of tools for both pro and home use. If you use the home grade tools hard, you'll burn them up.

I have the M18 Fuel hammer/driver. It is good BUT the clutch is too strong for most stuff I do like drilling in 2x4, plywood, etc.. I can't use the clutch even on the lowest setting since it is too strong, I am guessing it is at 12 pounds on low? I guess it is made for heavier duty stuff. I recommend M12 Fuel or other brand for most people since you can use the clutch more. BTW new M18 and M12 is coming out in a few weeks.

I used a brushed drill to install recessed lights, drill through double plated wall, etc, they work for your average Joe. The brushless has so much more power, they will almost snap your wrist, lol.

I just got this drill for my birthday. Seems like a nice drill. I was disappointed that it didn't come with a bit holder. My old craftsman had that built in on both sides for a flat and philips. I've seen the add on bit holder and it looks bulky how it hangs off the side.
@hammerandhome
@hammerandhome 3 жыл бұрын
It seems that most drills and impacts are moving away from that feature.

It’s funny how the chepo drills seem to have some cool features that the better more powerful drills and impacts don’t. I have the gen 3 m18 fuel impact and hammer drill. I also have a brushed ryobi set and what I love about both ryobis is that yes they have the bit holder ( so do the fuel tools) but more importantly the feature I love that the Milwaukee’s don’t have is the built in magnetic trays to hold your screws. It’s an awesome feature that I love on ladder. I know I can hot glue a magnet on my Milwaukee’s but then I’m making that shiny red beast look janky. Funny though I wish they would use some of the features the lesser brands have (technically Milwaukee and ryobi are both owned by Tti )
@motov8-garage832
@motov8-garage832 Жыл бұрын
That bit holder feature was honestly a pain in the @ss when you use it all day at work. The bits would hang out just a little and get caught on stuff, fall out and get lost, then that little metal clip that holds the bit in there would eventually fall out. This is all based off my experience with the older dewalts that had that feature.

For some reason my chuck is stuck with a drill bit in it. I need to open the chuck to change my bit, but can't get it to budge. It is a brushless hammer drill. Any cool ideas as to how to get the chuck to move without too much trouble?

I really wanted to go with DeWalt because my brother uses them. I thought using the same battery system would be a huge plus. Their model numbering system seems random to me, and they give vague information on their drills. 40 % more power? More power than what? They rate torque in made-up or possibly imaginary units. I like to research and compare products before buying. When I was in the trades decades ago, I seldom if ever saw a new Milwaukee tool. They all looked as though they had been abused for 20 years, but they still worked like new. That is why I am now looking at Milwaukee.

Yeah it’s tough figuring out what to get. And as soon as you buy something, they come out with a better model. Both platforms are great! Milwaukee is a bit better in the impact drill world on my opinion. I love my 1/4” fuel impact. It’s practically all I use for everyday screwing. Like 3” grk all day long. And my favourite dewalt is the 850. Enjoy shopping😊

The batteries that come with that drill are useless. The m18 1.5ah is significantly less power on this drill than a xc5 or even a cp3. I’ve had that drill for a while and it’ll even mix a 5 gallon bucket of joint compound with a 6ah. Took it back for warranty after 2 years and got new one this week
