Күн бұрынSoftbody Physics are a secret game dev topic I dont see other game developers talk about much in their devlogs. It has the potential to completely break your indie game, but if done right has the most satisfiying collisions possible. I gave mysef 2 weeks to develop this overhaul and improve my GMTK Game Jam 2023 Game! The theme of this Jam was 'Roles Reversed', so I made roles reversed cut the rope! Here's what I learned.

perhaps make it show what point/pin you are actually going to be on when you press left click, and also add a bit of interpolation on the right-click pin

Jellycar is a huge inspiration! I cover it a lot more in the first video but without jellycar I wouldn't be making this game at all, its the best!

The tape rolls are quite hard to see on the white background, but this looks quite fun thus far!

another interesting story is cats are liquid, which completely originated from the dev trying to make a liquid system for a totally different project and it turning into a ball that kind of looked like a cat. Sometimes physics mishaps can create great things

I know the game is called dont cut the rope, but wouldnt it be cool if the ball was a slime and he shooted slime hands, which would work as the ropes
