Mom in North Carolina got a protection order against the narcisst in our family She has a no contact order and the Narc has to return Mom's property. Moms narc was making me and Mom sick plus a few nice people mom knows. At 83 she got acknowledgement that she's fighting against. Elder Abuse against a narcissist. North Carolina courts held up rights for elders and my mom and that they can't be abused 😭😭💕💕💕tears of joy and relief. Mom is legally blind and hard of hearing. She won’t even turn the heat on in the winter. Meanwhile she claims she has designer bags and dresses and other collections. When I bought the kid food, the nEx said the kid didn’t like it. When you were describing how the narcissist takes over your house, I was thinking of the recycled supply and how he bought a $1M house for him, her and her son last year (2023) and I would NOT be surprised to know she’s not contributing much, if anything at all, and probably taking over the house and directing him as to what she wants to buy and how she wants the house set up. I know from pics of her in her ex husband’s house (as well as her parents’ house after she abandoned the marital home in late 2019/early 2020) that she is messy and has cluttered rooms that aren’t clean. Her son was the same way. She’s ALWAYS the victim too. That’s how she drew me in.

We have a high ranch and I made it into a two house lol! It’s great! Until he comes knocking on my door but it’s locked and I just peek through the chain I had installed lol. Asking what do you want? My Narcissist is indeed a community leader, ''holier than thou' religious figure-head. Knows Bible back to front. I struggle every day that whilst we understand everything Andrew says, literally 100's of others are members and continue with him. 9 years....9 years it has been the hardest of my life. We've been apart 4 months. And it nearly killed me. I almost lost everything good in My life. Even Mt job and I wrecked my car. Couldn't sleep. Couldn't eat. I was dieing. Now I'm finally healing. They have there new supply. Sadly I cannot entirely cut ties tho. That's the hard part. We have a sweet 6 year old baby boy together. I stayed through so much just for him to have his family under one roof. I didn't realize it would make dad only a temporary part of his life. I didn't realize how close to death she pushed me. Maybe the reason why she's always tried to put me into a grave, is because the day she met me she was the one and only reason I got pulled out. She's just trying to restore the natural balance.

Hey Andrew …. Everything your talking about my ex husband did all of it . I couldn’t watch anything I wanted in tv . He would grab that remote and hang onto it like another mobile phone 📱. He sabortaged my job to get me sacked so he could financially take over . He would cheat right in front of me . We would go out for dinner then while I was in the toilet when I would come out he would b sitting at the bar talking to another women then would tell me it was a friend . Like wtf I was always shocked with triangulation to the core which would trigger reactive abuse . Their so sick and demonic it’s horendous . Can’t recover from it .

What I look for is when aspects that are related to performance, looks, intelligence, success etc. matter more than the subjective aspects, emotions, how our body feels like, the memories we form. With a person that cares more about performance, about status, about who's the superior human specimen, you'll probably have a harder time having a nice time with, because they will impose roles onto you. This was done to them, as-well, when they were children. With someone that imposes a role onto you - you're either very smart or very ugly, unsuccessful, awkward, too intelligent, you'll never be seen, you'll never matter. You'll feel a certain amount of pressure when you're with that other person, because you must fit into the role, depending on your willingness or capacity to fit into the role. It's not implicit that they will exploit you or that you'll feel bad. They may admire you for certain reasons or what you provide. If you stick to your role... let's say you're this empathetic friend, like they've seen in movies empathetic friends are, everything is nice and neat. You may not even be very empathetic... but they may see you this way or want you this way. With you around, they will feel superior. You're caring, but lacking in other aspects, you're less intelligent or successful in their eyes. It will feel like a fairy tale, for you and for them, like having this wonderful adventure. The problem is when or if you shift from your role. That's when the fairy tale starts crumbling. If you stop being empathetic, that may mean you also may not be less intelligent or successful. That would be a serious threat. They will never care for what happens to you or how you feel, because their plan matters more. The plan may be to have parties or visiting exotic places or to be a successful leader... it doesn't really matter. The plan matters more.

Excellent posts as usual! My request is this: can you talk about the implications of having a child with a narcissist? Specifically, what happens when the child is the new supply? How should the other parent, who escaped the narcissist, deal with this? Patterns seems to include: 1) that the narcissist is turning the child into a narcissist with excessive spoiling, and 2) that the narcissist is turning the child against the other parent (almost as though the child is sent in as yet another "flying monkey"). Co-parenting (if it can even be called that) becomes yet another means to cause disruption, and to hurt and control the other parent.
