I have only managed to find you a week ago, but must have watched atleast 10-15 hours of your videos (I'm not exactly sure how much). Before you came along i was struggling in 3/2 Blitz with a rating of 280-315 bouncing around there. Yes, I still lost half my games, but now I am 442 in blitz. There are many factors, the first realising my old brain is slow and losing 40% of my lost games on time I now play 5/5 after seeing you do it (did not know it was an optionbefore lol). However, the most impressive change is my opening knowledge. I've been playing since October 2023, and this week, i have learnt more than in all the time before. Reason for this? You're teaching me :) . Thank you once again Alex.

I know Alex has several videos on the “Reverse London” which is basically going for a type of Slav with the aim of getting your White bishop to f5 if possible. I would definitely like to see more videos on anti-d4 stuff, and anti-c4 while we’re at it.

I’ve been watching your vids on the caro kann and so far it has helped a lot. I just finished a game were my opponent started playing that and I recognized whet he was doing. So I threw some wrenches in his plan early on. Basically a couple moves that weren’t the normal ones that the top csro moves plan against. He didn’t know what to do by turn 4 and took nearly a full minute of a 10 minute game to make his next move. He finally quit about 10 moves later when I forked his king and queen. Oh, and he was a 1400… and I had not quite broken 1300 yet :). I will continue reviewing your vids. Thanks!

I got into chess like 8-9 months ago and just now I'm finding this channel!! Your videos are really good, and they make me wanna play chess. For me, your explanations work best because the things you say makes sense to me, and the way you say it, the timing, the accent, everything just clicks with me. I honestly increased my elo by 100 just because I was able to pay more attention in my games after learning some of your ways.

@0:20 When I first started watching chess, many of the commentators would say "the player was in time trouble". Many commentators have accents so I heard "the player is in time travel". I took me a year before I realized this and really I think "time travel" is a better way to describe what is going on when you are having analysis paralysis.

Jovaba + Caro... I'm innnnn!!!.... Alex, after finishing your jovaba course and taking a break, are you thinking about a Slav or repertoire against 1d4, nights and english?...It would be the cherry on the cake, a take my money one, as it compliments perfectly this 2 as I see it... Your caro course is just amazing, and I'll probably get the Jovabava too, but this d4 is where I'm most lost as the majority of the people here as I see it.

Hey I'm a lowly 1200 here... But at 11:02, wouldnt it have been better to take the pawn (Rxb3) before CONSIDERING the Knight (Bxd2)? Just saying... Cause I THINK I can see a better variation after capturing the pawn with the knight still pinned to the Rook 😅

Far better. You are using the weird comparisons less than before, which means that I finally feel comfortable watching your videos without cringing. I’d love to see an Italian course on KZfaq that is updated too so that’s an idea for you in the future. I’ll start to learn your caro-Kann defence ideas now past this video because if you stop the strange comparisons. I watched your videos for over a year before and got quite good at openings too so if you keep going like this, I’ll be watching a lot more.

It’s called “en passant”, which can happen when a pawn moves two squares on its first turn to end up on the same rank as an opposing pawn. On that turn only, the opponent can capture the pawn as shown in the video. Meaning if he hasn’t captured it then, he couldn’t later on(and capturing isn’t always the best idea of course)

Alex, if I’ve watched all your caro videos over and over again, but continue to lose, obviously because I suck. Would I get more out of your caro course or is it all mostly covered in your KZfaq videos? Also, what is the difference between the two price points?
@darkdragon4148
@darkdragon4148 2 ай бұрын
One important question is “why are you losing?” If it’s actually because of the opening stage of the game, my opinion is that KZfaq videos are probably enough but you can get the course if you want to support him. If it’s not, just ensure a playable position out of the opening and focus on tactics/middle game plans/etc.
