In Brazil, before asking for directions, you have to say "Hi! Excuse me. Good morning/afternoon/evening. Sorry to interrupt (whatever you're doing). Can you tell me...?" The most important is "good morning/afternoon/evening" before anything. Hahaha! I hate this. Nobody is wishing you any good part of the day. it's just a formula to show how polite you are. Of course there are exceptions to everything. Great lesson. You said it's for beginners, but sometimes we're so focused on advanced vocab and skip very useful information. Thank you! (Watching at 2x)

Polite people do the same obviously .

@@silviomp as an English teacher in Thailand there are formal ways of speaking in our language and informal . My mother being Thai , I was raised speaking Thai and English . Every society has it's tweeks . Yes , we are very formal here in Thailand . All of my students 7 - 40 years of age will bow to me at the beginning and end of class .
@silviomp

@@stevejaenghan5589 Yeah, it's like a religion. If you don't do it, you might be "stoned." Human beings love formality, it makes them feel better, and they will do it even if they don't like you because it's not about being genuinely nice, but following the rules.

Sorry, Silvio... But you don't need to sound bitter when telling that in Brazil greetings( good morning, etc) are a mechanic talk. Maybe you only had met people in a hurry or bad mood. We usually are friendly. Have you forgotten that?

Thanks for your teachings. Can understand very well. Nicely organised. Teaching speeds very good. While teaching you give us time to absorb that into our mind. Just a little one thing I just want to mention, if you check your video, you will see that the board is not clearly seen in the right end. Part of you've written in there, cannot be seen. Beyond that, I love your English teaching programs. Thank you so much taking care of us. Wishing you a good! Have a happy life!
