Absolutely true, I was chasing this girl and she rejected me, instead of thinking about it I just realised I had to spent time on myself instead of chasing others, I started working out (I´m still not buffed or anything but at least I started being more confident about myself, I started taking care on my looks, grew and shaped a beard, started learning really whatever I feel interested in and, know what? I found a girl that´s amazing, she liked me and I´m sure she wouldn´t have if I had spent that much time chasing girls who are not worth the effort, let them all know what they are missing instead of missing it yourself
