Where have you vanished to? As an ex soldier I like to come back to this channel to see others soldiers returning to civilian street. It can be tough at times

Alright mate. I am probably at the worst motivated moment in my life and these vids are helping get me through it. Lower back pain and plantir fasciitis is ruining me.

I alternate between running and calisthenics training Week A 3 running 4 calisthenics Week B 4 running 3 calisthenics Every other day. no consecutive running or calisthenics days. This is working for me. Double sessions almost ruined me also what you say makes me feel better because browse on reddit people generally run 6-7 days a week and say you cant improve running unless you run 50-80miles per week. I really feel embarrassed that I only run 3-4 days a week 🤣 probably 25-35km per week🤣 but i guess I am not a professional runner preparing for race and I just need to be all rounder to prepare for military. Stay injury free, get my strength, muscular endurance and aerobic endurance to decent level. I guess thats enough especially I am not going for combat role. keep videos coming

You are exactly right! Especially your comment about being an all rounder - this should 100% be the aim. There’s loads of fast people in the military. Doesn’t mean they are good when running with weight or obstacle courses etc. Also loads of strong people - not necessarily good runners. Being able to do both well should be the aim. Glad to hear your programme is working for you. Staying accountable and consistent will always deliver results 👌👌

Also zone 2 training with a bit of speed work helps of you want to run and lift weights. That's I found helps me. Got RMAS coming soon so hope this helps for anyone going through it.

Hey mate, been watching a lot of your videos as I’m heavily considering joining the Army (very helpful btw thanks for the effort) Do these training tips transfer to excelling the fitness needed to handle the running in Basic training? I’m quite built and I’d like to hold my size and strength, but I also want to get super fit for when I join up. Any advice welcome :)

I need to lose weight, about 10lbs, I'm doing quite well, making progress. I run two times a week, sometimes three if I can. I can't do many press-ups and I can't do a pull up, nor hang for very long. I want to apply to the army in a months time.

Hey im thinking about joining the army but have scars on my arms from self harm.HOWEVER i was 11 when i had got them and it was due to seeing other girls in my year doing the same and i had recently moved schools, i was highly impresionable and was looking to make freinds. Would this disqualify me from joining. Should i mention this in the first place i was never diognosed with depression and there are few scars, mostly light?

Hope your doing good dan, ive found your videos very helpful, just about to turn 16 in a few days and im trying to build up enough evidence for my parents to see sense in me joining, im pretty set on the paras right now, but i was just wondering if its a good idea to wait until im 17 and 6 months to join, simply because i feel the 66 week training for anyone under that age would be a waste, and another reason being is that i would also give myself an extra year and 6 months to prepare myself physically and mentally, really hope you upload more soon or even just reply to this comment, cant stress how much these videos have helped me

As a reservist who passed their module 3(phase 1) back in February, I strongly recommend using kettlebells for your strength training. Using 5 of the 6 fundamental exercises - swings, clean and press, squat, turkish get up, and if you've got time to learn it properly, the snatch. I'm not really a fan of running, so I found it more convenient to go running straight after my kettlebell training. I was doing between 2K and 5K. The other good thing about kettlebells is, they train your cardio and conditioning as well. Helpful if you're also not big into running.

Hey dan, I know you left a while ago but I'm going to Sandhurst next year and I was wondering if you had any knowledge about the sorting of regiments. I've heard people say there's a clear social hierarchy and that only those with a specific background can get into the guards/ cav but I wanted to know if that still holds true? Cheers

hi mate, just wondering in basic for infantry are you allowed to strength train with weights?, i train 6 days a week in the gym as well as endurance running 3 times a week was just curious as to if its just running.. joining 6th November!

Hey man, good question. For phase 1, I think you’ll only really do PT sessions in the programme. This will include some strength sessions but it’ll be with an instructor. Then phase 2 you’re allowed to do you’re own training when you’re not busy
