I have to correct you about one thing. The kid with his cool shades on was doing the right thing. He covered his mouth and eyes to prevent smoke from getting into them. There was enough light from the fire all around him to be able to see through the shade decently. So he was one of the smartest people there.

26:00 Those "cool guy shades" would have been acting as a barrier to prevent smoke from going into his eyes and blinding him. That, coupled with the dimming effect sunglasses have would have made this guy the perfect candidate to lead the people through the burning maze. Nobody else would have to keep their eyes open, they would just have to make sure that they stay connected to the person in front of them, and they could all get out relatively safely

I think this is honestly one of the best adaptations of a book in the horror genre. The book isn't bad but it has some serious problems, most prominently the killer. (Spoilers for those who haven't read it ahead.) The killer being David (which was a neat Easter egg with the Uber driver) was completely out of left field and it's done like that to purposely subvert the building narrative that Ollie was the killer. This is done sooooo much better in the movie with Zach with all the little hints sprinkled throughout it.

My theory is that the serial killer, Zach or whatever, had a plan. He started with aggressors or kids in the wrong like the first jock and the white supremacist girl but then went off the rails because he got too bloodlusted and excited or whatever and so he started targeting kids with lesser “sins,” like the pill popper kid and Mikena or whatever her name is. Mikena’s crime was that she was the victim of a hazing and was poked and prodded into fighting a girl around a bonfire while they were both drunk. The real person at fault in this accident is the asshole kids who were hazing Mikena and the other girl in the first place. Ricardo was struggling with addiction, but I don't think we had enough information to say for sure. He could have an illness that causes chronic pain, or maybe it's the illness that started a dependency on pain killers. Either way, we don't have all the info and addiction isn't punishable by death. If Zach's sole intent was to humiliate and expose people for the lies they hide, he could have informed the police and school authorities that Ricardo was popping pills. TL:DR, my theory is that the serial killer’s motive went from Dexter levels of justice to off-the-rails, killing for the thrill of it.

If that kid was really an addict (and I belive that if you decide to go full Dexter on someone you will make sure he is not taking those pills for chronic pain, and may I say that as someone who suffers chronic pain I would not go picking up pills from the floor that's something a drug addict would do I have my prescription, thank you very much) and his ''sin'' was not a ''lesser sin'' given that while under efect he can hurt himself or another person. The black girl wanted to be part of a popular club knowing how full bad they were or at least learned that night, plus she never faced consequences and changed her name to start over while her victim's life was destroyed. Which I feel washer real sin here. How can you change your name and act like nothing after causing so much pain to another human being, she obviosly doesn't care. I can't say that the group was the only guilty party here just as I won't say that the white supremacist girl is not really guilty because her entire family are white supremacists and was raised her this way. At some point one is old enough to diferenciate right from wrong. I was rooting for the killer, till the end the director I guess decided to make him extra dumb all of sudden so the black girl could kill him. I mean don't create a villain that goes left and right killing people like nothing (eveb if they are all idiots) just to get caught because he wanted his James Bond villain monologue.

@@LifeInPink999 why did the killer stab Caleb ? He was the victim of Jackson (first guy killed) and the rest of the football team? Also I think they said Makaela (the black girl) was tried, but I guess was found not guilty as just defending herself, as she was pushed first, and then pushed back. It’s too bad they didn’t write the second half of the movie (addict on) as smartly as the first half. The addict (third victim) could have been a ‘pusher’ instead, who had gotten a little kid addicted who then ODed.

I'm fairly sure Katie could have survived too, since there was a LOT of potential weapons in the church, starting with all the metal staffs behind her in the altar. And as usual, full-face mask really limits vision, so she could easily beat the crap out of him. And let's not forget that there were multiple layers of that heavy long church bench, so if the killer tries to attack by going around or over those bench, then she could easily outmaneuver the killer. And as the video said, scream would have helped greatly.
@RS-fy9hb
@RS-fy9hb 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, and while she was doing all of that, just call police, put on speaker and down the pocket again. If they killer in church, they'll arrive there by a couple minutes, assuming a patrol's close. And I'm pretty sure that there's almost always some staff or priest also present when a memorial is being prepared. It looked pretty close to the event, judging by the amount of light, since it was nearing evening (I assume), and the lighting didn't seem to have changed much by the time people walked in. On another note, it doesn't make much sense that the first people to notice are the people attending the memorial, I'd have thought it'd be the people preparing the service.

It’s also totally possible that the masked killer was already hiding in Makani’s room before she entered it to sleep, instead of breaking in afterwards. It’s kinda weird to think about, but in my eyes at least the killer has a pattern of being already inside the houses of his victims before the murder takes place. With the first guy being killed, the football player, the little egg timer was already put inside before he returned home, and the kid suffering from addiction was chased by the murderer shortly after the lights were cut. The murderer could’ve been hiding in her closet or under her bed. Would’ve been kind of a gamble, but he could’ve bet on her having a false sense of security and not being paranoid to check the place she’s already barricading. After all, he already has been taking enormous risks with people’s judgements in the trails he’s been setting.

It really irritates me that the movie puts addiction in the same category as attempted manslaughter, hazing, assault & battery. Aside from the latter all being malicious acts inflicted on another person, addiction is a disease with a biological cause. The killer wouldn't murder someone just bc they have diabetes or depression. It's possible (maybe even probable) that the addict did terrible things to score more pills, but that's never addressed. The addiction itself is presented as a sin worthy of death, which makes no sense. It just further stigmatizes an already misunderstood condition.

Unfortunately there are people even doctors who think like that. There was an addiction specialist (a physician who was an addiction specialist)and I heard him tell a patient that they deserved to be raped by their perverted family members because they did drugs despite the fact that they only started to do drugs to cope with the sexual abuse that had been going on for years and that the cops had done nothing to stop. It was someone I knew, so I knew what was going on and it wasn’t a lie ( but even if t was , doing drugs is no justification for abuse even if the drug use was first). but in some people’s eyes including that physicians somehow them doing drugs after undergoing years of trauma was justification for rape that started years earlier.

I feel like it was really obvious the killer was Zach, starting from the killing at his own house. He already was presenting obvious signs of fitting the profile, and coming up with that compelling theory about the cops doing it was way too thought out than the theories a random civilian would have, that was where I started to get suspicious. But his extensive knowledge of his house to kill Rodrigo made it super obvious, since he was even able to attack him when he went through that vent and caught him outside easily; and planned the party as a perfect place to kill him. He should have been on the police radar since that moment, even if Ollie was still being considered. It would have made more sense for the police to suspect them both after that. But from the viewer perspective Ollie was being way to forced to look like the killer, so it clearly wasn't gonna be him, which is why I think it was very obvious it had to be Zach ahahah Still a fun watch. I'm sure Zach could have been caught much earlier if the victims had managed to defend themselves and call for help more, especially the first two would have lead to him getting caught instantly. But even with his first "perfect crimes", he should have been a suspect for the police pretty soon. Especially for Ollie's brother, who should have been thinking of a way to defend Ollie by finding another suspect.

We go from “personally committing physical abuse” to “promoting hate crime” to “has a drug addiction” to “manslaughter” to “everyone’s a hypocrite”. I think it’s because the killer is just secretly addicted to committing murder, and will distort any offense to be worthy of death so they can kill.

Honestly though, as funny as the ring around the Rosie is, she probably would have lived long enough had she done it. Considering the benches were all very long as well as the killer wearing a robe, she could've just went around them a bunch of times and used her reflexes to turn. The killer would have to keep running around, and while they could jump them that takes more energy and still gives her time to run. She could've used the rope on her robe as a weapon too if needed.

Also I can say from experience that you get finer wounds that leave less visible scarring from sharp blades compared to dull ones. Clarifying: my experience is from minor accidents that has happened to me. The few scars I’ve received from my kitchen knives are near invisible compared to when I’ve gotten a cut that was more from hitting an edge with a lot of impact. So generally sharper knives are safer, but you also need to know how to use them properly. I’ve seen a surprising amount of people being careless when handling knives

So if rodrigo actually took off his hoodie and ran along with everyone outside while covering his face, I think zach wont be able to single him out quick enough to take him out. Remember he is wearing a mask that restricts his field of vision. He could easily have been knocked down by a shove by rodrigo on the way out and the crowd stampede would have followed.

Upon discovering the closet as an obvious kill room, the football player should’ve waited outside the closet since he can swing the golf club more freely in a bedroom. He could’ve just waited out the killer in the bedroom, keeping eyes on both the closet and bedroom door (just in case) until his parents got home. The closet door needed to have stayed closed to prevent the killer from escaping or charging at the football player with no warning-especially important given the fact that he picked a golf club of all things as a weapon.

Ok so, For rodrigo's death, 1. One of the Jocks had called out that they saw someone with Rodrigo's Mask on enter, This means the killer either; A. Had the mask on the entire time and everyone was too busy/intoxicated to see or care B. Went elsewhere for a long while to put on the hoodie, put on the mask, and cut the electricity and then appeared, This would hypothetically speaking clear Ollie or Zach. Some more supporting evidence that would declare Ollie innocent for that party (which is circumstantial I admit) is that Rodrigo had made fun of Ollie like 10-30m before he died, I don't think Ollie would have had the time to make Rodrigo's mask and go cut the electricity and go sicko mode, Unless he was planning to do so beforehand and the insult was unrelated entirely. Abit of Evidence against Zach and Ollie though, When the Officer had asked ollie if he took the Tazer (13:18) Ollie had said no, Tilted his head sideways-downward and immediately blinked, Now I know it's very circumstantial but It seems like his question about a Tazer had unnerved Ollie which means Ollie might know something about it, And during Rodrigo's death, The Killer had navigated the house and started planting their knives through the vents like they knew the house like the back of their hand

If I had to guess, the killer was probably hiding in her room the whole time, which is how he was able to remove the objects blocking access, and also regulate what items should had available to her. As for their identity, I immediately suspected them the moment they first appeared on screen, seems kinda obvious, and that was before a profile was spelled out. They would need means, a specific form and range of characteristics, and familiarity so proximity. They appeared about the right height, similar fitness level, and were also in close enough proximity that it seemed likely. It's easier in media as for the most part, unlike Scooby Doo, they don't want to reveal a character as the killer that you've never heard of nor seen before. In real life, it could legitimately have been some random person that didn't match the full profile, or that were attempting to mask their modus operandi. The Unabomber was like that, but for all his intelligence he was kinda dumb, with the investigators able to pretty easily deduce his true nature and proclivities.

I understand it being dark and everyone panics....but you have a house of 50+ people vs 1 person who is literally ignoring everyone to chase one guy. Just beat their ass lmao, anyone could of walked up behind them and hit them over the head with something.

Dude. I haven’t seen the video yet,but that seriously happened. A easy 50v1 and they didn’t jumó him. Even if they wanted to be jerks they could let the killer kill one dude then jumó the killer and beat his ass.

@@remontariv1130 I'd understand if he was like waving a knife or gun around and everyone was a potential target, but the fact that he was straight lining after one person and not guarding his back at all. As mentioned in the video he made some pretty poor choices for going after his victims; trapping himself in a closet he could of easily gotten locked inside of until police arrived. Attacking the girl with only minutes until a giant group of people could of walked in on him attacking her. This was another very poor choice to just "appear" in the middle of a giant group of people when you don't know if just that one person will stop and go "Hey, he's ignoring me....let me bash him over the head with this random hard object". Cause ultimately this is a movie not real life, and there is a Hero character who will end it.
