Amazing video best neon tetra breeding I tried it then in few days my female died because of some disease but I saw its stomach it was full of eggs tank you

Use Air-stone to drip out water. It's easy & safe for water changes.

Hello, I saw some people use Sera Micron for just born cebra fry, Sera micron is smaller than infusoria, is also good for guppy fry. ¿Do you think this product is also okey for neon fry? Thank you. Good video.

Unfortunately again 2x failed attempts. Loads of eggs released on both occasions, but no fry found? Parameters perfect, soft 100% acidic pH 6 rainwater. Did you condition the females in acidic water before moving her to the breeding tank? I’ve been advised to put the females in the breeding tank, then condition them until really fat then add a Male. Approx 10 days later So frustrating why it’s failing

Great Vid. I've set up my tank with main tank water and coco peat 4 days ago, temp 22C, water very dark, which I know is ideal for them, just nervous putting my pair in from the main tank of 6, in case they die/ get stressed in the peat dark water. I'm guessing the one with the slight curved neon line is female. Can't get the PH to lower (coco peat isn't acidic). Not sure to wait for my almond leaves to arrive or just try the pair in for one night to see if they spawn, in the spawning mop! No rain here in the urban city. What do you suggest? Thanks.

Well it depends on the hardness of your water, they might spawn but the eggs won't hatch in harder water. Also it will be very obvious which is the female, they gst absolutely huge bellies on them. I would try it out just because its good to get some experience, seeing them spawn and all of that and if you get fry then thats great, you can always try again with the ial later

@@AquaViva1 Hi and thanks for replying. The pH here in my area of the UK is around 7.5, with my API test kit. I've added an almond leaf and let it soak overnight so I'll check the pH later. Trying to fatten up the suspected female but the hungry guppies grab alot of the food too! I'll give it ago tonight and let you know.! Thanks again

@@AquaViva1 Hi. Haven't started yet. The pH for some reason hasn't lowered even after adding a large Almond leaf to soak. Had some rain last night but only managed to collect a small amount. Was thinking to boil it before adding to the breeding tank to make sure it's safe as it's urban rainwater. Is there anyway I can send a vid of the female I took today and you could tell me if it is female and pregnant? The body does look fuller and blue line more bent than before. I'm hoping it's not neon tetra disease!

They dont get pregnant, just full off eggs. She should be about one and a half times the depth of your males. It's quite obvious. Also if u look from above she will be rounder

@@AquaViva1 No success with the breeding or even spawning. They just were not interested in each other. Again she doesn't seem to get fat, more just an obvious bend in her blue neon. I've managed to source a place here in the UK, where they have national stations that offer soft water (RO)for aquariums, and you can fill up yourself. I'll just have to give them more baby brine shrimp and see if she bloats with eggs!!

Do they get eggs only at specific times of the year or do they always have eggs when the have matured?

Mine did, but you gotta separate them from the fry because of predatory behavior, and you have to have the micro food ready to roll.

Don’t se The growing stages. Where are the adult form of the fry? How many fry reach the adult form? New born innesi don’t eat naupli but paramecium and infusoria for the first 6 days

Hey. My neons managed to spawn in the main tank last month but they didn't hatch obviously because the parameters aren't right. I've set up my breeding tank with soft water almond leaf etc and the parameters are perfect. The question I have is it safe to move 3 of my six, one definite male and 2 suspected females into the breeding tank once I notice spawning in the main tank or is it OK to move them anyway and keep feeding them live food in the breeding tank until they spawn? I don't want to stress out the remaining 3 in the main tank as they are shoaling fish. Did ylu move yours once you knew they were spawning and only kept them in the breeding tank overnight and moved them back Since? Some people say only move when you see it, others say it's ok to move them and fatten them up in the breeding tank? Since the time they 1st spawned in the main tank, I've added 6 leopard Danios so the neons do get disturbed, and probably don't have a chance to spawn although I've seen the males chasing each other off. Thanks for the vid and I hope you can advise me!

Fatten them up in the main tank and once they are fat, move them in the evening time to the breeding tank. Only move a pair, 1 male and 1 female. Keep the tank covered until the morning, then uncover it and they should spawn, after a few hours move them back to the main tank.

@@AquaViva1 Hi. I've been trying to fatten them up now for over a week with live Baby brine shrimp and frozen blood worms, despite the fast Danios grabbing alot of the food. Only one seems to have got fat, this is the one I always suspected being female, but is showing no signs of interest. Chases all the other neons away. Weird how the others are showing no interest in spawning, unlike they did a month ago. The ones I spotted spawning last month weren't fat and I definitely saw very few eggs being released but eaten, so I can't identify which ones . So frustrating as the breeder tank is perfect parameters, temp soft and acidic, but I can't move any pair in as I'm not noticing any spawning behavior and don't want to unnecessarily stress them being in a different tank overnight for no reason. Any advice as you've been so successful! Thanks

@@alsfishtipsaquatics988 you just need to feed really heavily multiple times a day. Maybe move them to the breeding tank and even feed them in there with no danios?

@@AquaViva1 Cool. I've managed to split the main tank with plastic darice plastic mesh and isolate the tetras on one side so they cam be fed independently. Let's hope they start showing some fattening up and interest in spawning. As always thanks for your helpful advice and I'll keep you up to date! The Danios are next on the agenda and they are much more easier apparently!

When is the correct time to pick the female? The female.gets plump. But eggs are not laid.

After feeding high quality food for about a week the female will appear very plump from above, this is a good time to try to spawn them

I was able to use my tap water but for a higher yield i repeated the process using rainwater. For hatching tds should be

Yes you can but the best way is to keep the eggs in the dark, in a clean tank. Also is it definitely fungus or are the eggs just infertile? I fertile eggs are also white. Your water could be too hard.
