You'll need a metal cutting blade like this one: amzn.to/2KxFvb9
BE very careful and wear gloves and eye protection when cutting. Hot sparks and metal shavings come off while cutting.

in 2021 with the cost of lumber, this idea seems great: also should last longer than wood boards!

Oh man, I'm so glad I clicked on this video. I've got the same style and color of house along with hilly, rocky soil and no privacy. I was on the fence (😜) about whether or not this kind of privacy fence would look right with my house and yard. This video totally eases my worries.

Absolutely a beautiful job, I had the idea in my mind, and now that I have seen your idea and out come, this is what I will do this summer I am not worried about the cost so much nor the wind effects that may be an issue, what ever happens, happens. I have seen brick walls come down and vinyl fences stay put, perhaps if people are going worry about wind they should not put up a fence. Thank you for the video

You may have yourself a microclimate there next to the metal fence where you could grow things that love heat/warmer weather. I'm thinking I'd like to do this and incorporate a rock or stone base, even ....thermal mass. 🤔

You’ll love it and it’s not very difficult. All materials were bought at HomeDepot but I didn’t track the cost. If you figure out the size and make a materials list you can make a quick estimate looking online. I’m sure it’ll cost more now then it did when I did it due to current materials cost.

I know early on, because I have watched this video a million time to recreate it, but you said you wanted to go vertically with the corrugated metal but went horizontally it that because you couldn’t get 12 ft sections of the corrugated metal, I only ask because my sections it actually 20 ft even meaning I’m trying to do 10 ft vertical sections I also understand I’m also going to have to add 2 2x4 sections in the middle of the posts as opposed to yours which only has one
@freetotryit
@freetotryit 3 жыл бұрын
Great question. So the original thought was to go horizontal and match the lines of the siding on the house. We opted to go vertical so it would match to mix it up. The metal I had available was 12ft lengths so I could have gone either way with my framing. We still love it everytime we pull in the driveway. Good luck!
