Here is Part 2 of this Router Table build. In Part 1 we worked on building the base which is a solid foundation for the router table. In Part 2 we focus on the top, fence, attaching it to the base and adding the final touches.

Hey Laney GREAT job! Sure wish you were in production mode when I was down there, maybe next time. I'm definitely going to be using the leg base for an out feed table and a work bench. I think that is an awesome design.

Great Video. Building a router table like this is on my "dream build list" This is pretty much exactly what I plan on building. I just can seem to scrap up to buy all that T-Track, Multi Track,Base Plate & Accessories and ran it by my accountant (A.K.A the wife) she just laughed and told me to dream on!

Man I liked that fence a lot. Truth be told I liked all of those Rockler parts on the table and one day maybe I'll be able to have some. Right now they are just to expensive for us "OLD" woodworkers on Social Security. Hope to see you more often, God Bless.

Thanks for the video. Great router table. And the Rockler accessories are awesome. Maybe the tool apron was an afterthought, but it is a good thing that you have it situated under the table a few inches to keep the pockets dust free. I think the miter slot would be a great addition to the table.

Nice job and great video! BTW, what a good feature by Rockler to make the router insert with rounded corners. Knowing that you would, otherwise, have to square up the corners with a chisel .... after you routed the table top... just a little bit of thoughtful design on their part!

I have been creating my own laminated plywood with my offcuts. Great way to use your offcuts. (so very, very similar to quilting.) Call me crazy, but For so much, I think it has all come down to the glue I use. I am using industrial glue that "I build it home" uses. Because most of my current lamination projects have to handle MOISTURE, the word of which is a double-edged sword that every woodworker either loathes or deals with. And,don't forget... Life is good.

Hey Laney, this is the first message I've ever left on youtube! People like you are the only reason I "use" it! I'm a pomme who's settled in Western Australia (8yrs), with a passion for wood work. I just wanted you to know, that after all the bull shit videos I've seen on here... yours are super informative, layman's terms, articulate (to my high standards), and just super nice... I wish you were my friend! (not a stalker, don't worry!). keep up the good work!! my next plan is to build your excellent router table and many other jigs you've kindly demonstrated. Not sure if they're your sponsors, but if so, you can tell them I've also been making my shopping list whilst watching! Take care and keep creative, James

Hi Laney. You have the SSRK but you have a need for another router on a table. Is the SSRK not enough for all routing projects? You have promoted the SSRK as safe because of the dead wood concept. Sorry for the question, I'm new to woodworking.
@LaneyShaughnessy
@LaneyShaughnessy 9 жыл бұрын
nxoncab The SSRK is great for Rabbets, Dados, Grooves, Edge forming, and pattern routing. but It is not designed for large bit routing such as raised panels, rails and stiles, etc where you would use a large panel raising bit. A Router table is recommended for this type of work, which is why I built mine.

Laney Shaughnessy Thanks for the reply mate. Great video. I will use the same concept of the base for my workbench. Here in Australia we don't have as much choice for woodworking suppliers like you guys have there. And its like buying gold if I ever find one. The EZ system will cost twice to have it shipped here. Anyway have a good one.

How do you know how far to have the T-track from the router bit center
@LaneyShaughnessy
@LaneyShaughnessy 8 жыл бұрын
+Larry Kelley placement of the t track is really dependant on what you want to do with it..my table doesnt have a miter slot but it does have the t track and my distance was determined by my t track accessories especially the feather board..my table top also doubles as a t track clamping table so i determined the distance the front track needed to be from the bit by using my feather board as a determining factor..then i just made the rear t track the same distance from the edge as the front track was from the edge.
