Love this tree! I have some reclaimed fence pickets that are beautifully weathered and perfect for this project...can't wait to get started. My tastes are the more primitives over polished so this style of tree will be a great addition 😊

I tend to gravitate toward liking more rustic items. UNTIL… I start building. And my ocd takes over and a more modern style takes over, LOL

Great Project! If you are planning on it sitting outside (not under a roof) I would recommend titebond 3.

I love your rustic tree! I did one at 2.5" strips with 45° angles. Finished product stood 5 ft tall! My question is, is it ok to use finishing nailer, I don't have a brad nailer.

A finish nailer will work. It will just leave larger nail holes.

So, if a miter saw doesn’t go to 50 degrees but had a max of 47, could you compensate for that by decreasing the width of the pieces? Down from 1 1/2” to maybe . . . ?

Great question. You can use any angle you would like. The lower the angle the wider the tree will be. The higher the angle, the more it will be tall and narrow. 45⁰ will work great for the project with all the same measurements.

@@tobytootimes7639 you could make a jig for your mitersaw and cut any angle you want. Just do a search right here in YT.
