Shannon, THANK you ever so much for these series of videos. I was contemplating building my own garage/shed but was reluctant as I've never taken on such a task. These videos was PERFECTLY in line with what I was wanting to build--from the blocked foundation to the roll up door to the vinyl. I'm about 80% complete with my build and I owe all the thanks to you for instilling confidence in me, a DIYer by heart. All I have left is to install the vinyl siding. I've never even framed anything up prior to this and my garage/shed is 22x48' with 2 motorized garage doors, 9 windows and a 6x7' roll up door! THANKS again for the instructional videos and the confidence booster I needed to complete the task and save a lot of $$ by doing it myself.

Having never built a shed (or anything else for that matter), I feel compelled to build my own now after watching MANY of your videos, as you make it all look so easy. My wife on the other hand isn't a fan. 1) because the 14 x 20 shed that I am building will eat up her garden 2) I spend most of my evenings watching your videos and taking notes, when I should be in bed. Anyway....... When I'm done I will either have a fantastic looking shed thanks to you, or a fantastically expensive toothpick collection......its a coin toss right now? Thanks for the videos.

Great educational videos, with a delivery that most people can follow. Thank you. The finished product looks a lot more stable than the kits for sheds that can be assembled. My neighbors put up a shed from a kit, and it sits on concrete with no floor (why does it need one, they thought?) and it has morphed its shape due to being overfilled with junk. When the junk pushes out the sides, there is nothing preventing the shed from losing its shape. I would have used plywood on the roof, though.

I believe that was the "ultra rib" profile for the roof. I bought through my local Home Hardware. I just order what profile, color and length I need.

I had the exact door installed on my new shed. The 4" of flooring exposed in front of the closed door has rotted out in less than 9 months do to rain running down the tracks of the door. Even after I put rubber strips to help prevent rain, the floor has rotted out 2 feet back!

Depends on the size of your door I would guess. The taller the door the bigger the size it is rolled up.

Thank you for your very detailed explanations. It inspires me to built thing that I would never have attempted. I just put up a very flimsy garage tent over my dog kennel to provide shelter from weather can you give a tutorial on an open canopy/tent that I can use and not worry that its gonna come down with the first high winds? I think i would be similar to the top of the shed except with support legs. By the way I have my retired husband full of projects:] This is his wife Myla

Excellent videos. Has inspired me to build my own 12 x8 with a hipped roof and 48" wood doors. Thank you so much for sharing your time and skills. Some Questions for you (if you can find time): As it is a weekend only project, I anticipate being incomplete for several weeks over this summer. During that time is it acceptable to leave it open to the weather as long as it is relatively dry by the time i seal it, or do you suggest covering the structure securely with Tarpaulins each evening to ensure no moisture gets in until I have the roof on and sealed? Is there any advantage in using pressure treated particle board/plywood on the sides or roof, or is that simply an unnecessary expense? Do you have any pointers for a Hipped roof installation on a 12' length? I am having trouble finding what proportions work best for a 12' x8' roof that can be max 24" above the wall. Cheers Alan
