Truing the flywheels to less than 1 degree is not a simple process, in some cases it may take hours, but is well worth the effort. Very interesting and informative. Thank you.

Thank You, you got that right. Some true pretty easy but some wheels can be a pain!

You really don't need the music. It just distracts from what you are doing. Peope tune in to see your expertise not listen to the band. Don't take this comment as a negative. What you do is great.😎👍

I have a 2004 sportster taking a measurement of my crankshaft in the truing stand Exactly where you were measuring I’m getting .002 The service manual says to measure on the outer ends of the shafts. Measuring there I’m getting .004 on both ends. Service manual states anything over .002 on the ends should be serviced and turned. Thoughts I this? I was always told to measure closest to the flywheels. I’m wondering if truing is necessary. Thanks

where is assembly lube?
@Stew_mcandrew6 ай бұрын
When the crank is fitted into the cases I inject a bunch of oil into the connecting rods on the crank pin race, this way I do not have to remove the rods after final fitting after honing/cleaning and risk dropping a needle etc

Tatro Machine hits the crank while in the truing stand; would it depend on what stand?
@deanmead71352 ай бұрын
Fantastic video. I am looking for someone to build me a pan shovel from scratch. Is this something that your shop does?
@mineericsmith3 ай бұрын
hey where did you get the stand or what did you use to make it
@paulacabbo4669 ай бұрын
the problem is after all that time is spent aligning the flywheels they won't stay trued, if you can tap them into alignment how much would it take for it to go out of alignment, if you balance them really well they may stay true, for a longer time but probably not the life of the engine
@Stew_mcandrew8 ай бұрын
We always make sure they are at .000- .001 runout max. One side is keyed and the other side is tapered. Harley has made them this way since the beginning. Balancing them is a whole different procedure

I like the strength of your videos. I have a question. Is the roller bearing race on the right side of the shaft suitable for grinding in Evo 1997? Thank you 😊
