Thanks for your video. My 3300 psi Ryobi with a Honda motor takes 12-13.5 ounces of 10W-30. It has a much longer fill spout and dip stick (don't screw it in to test oil level!), so no issue getting oil on the wheel. A warm engine will drain oil much better than a cold engine, so I run mine for several minutes, with water and pressure washing hose attached, since the motor will only idle if it is not actually spraying. Then when I drain the oil I have to hold the motor at a couple different angles above the oil pan to get it to fully drain.

Is the black piece on the bottom next to the pressure line an oil filter? Just used mine first time yesterday. Noticed it said first oil change is after 4 hours.

Hey so no my ryobi 2900 pull handle got stuck and it won’t pull out all the way. I’ve attempted to fix this by watching your video I believe I over filled the amount of engine oil it needs. So I tilted the machine and allowed it to drip out excess. After a couple minutes things remain the same. Any ideas to what to check for? I’m mentally stressing myself out here thinking it could be worse when it may not
@thehousemann

By the pull handle. Do you mean the rope to crank? That shouldn't seize from improper oil change. That would be the rope housing getting seized. It's pretty straight forward process, you access the rope from the top (removing the housing) and checking to see that it didn't get jammed.

Shouldn't be hard to do. Just find your model number and type that + air filter cover into Google. Should pop up something. See several old units being parted out often on ebay

Don’t forget also replace the pump oil once every several years as well. It requires removal and disassembling the pump.

Without more info. It'll be hard to tell. Could be a multitude of reasons. Old stake gas. Air in the fuel or water lines from improper purging..

I was under the impression that you were never supposed to crank the engine without water being supplied to it to keep from burning the pump up by running it dry.
@thehousemann

That's correct. Never for extended periods as the water acts as your cooling pump

Mine doesn't cut off. But I noticed mine doesn't like to pressurize properly until it's run for a bit. Make sure you are bleeding all the air out of the water line before cranking the unit.

@@thehousemann Cleaned out my Carb best I could. Didn't have wire for the slow jet so used what I could but I know didn't go down in there well, and I couldn't remove the screw from the main jet without striping it, in fact I may have a bit cause I can see some scratches on it now. So cleaned all the other parts out, put it back on, changed the filter, changed the oil, replaced the spark plug and still won't run when changing from choke to start. Would a new carb do the trick? I don't want to pour more $$ into this thing and wonder if I am just better of with a new powerwasher? I mean ethanol free gas would help it but this alone wouldn't be a solution would it?
@thehousemann
@thehousemann Жыл бұрын
@@bleo1017 The carb is your next best bet. Thats the issue with 90% of gas powered engines not running properly. This is why i always try to run ethanol free gas. Also another thing I do everytime is let cut off the fuel supply and let the unit turn itself off by running dry. Both of these protect and maintain the carb from gumming up. Ive always had success turning the power washer back on after 1-2 pulls, even after coming back from winter break. It's hard to tell from your comment, but are you saying the pressure washer will start while in choke, but die when you switch it over to run?
