Today's video demonstrates up close how to remove and reinsert the needles on the Brother 1034d Serger Machine. I show how to change both needles and then insert both the left and the right needles separately.I also show how to reinsert both needles at the same time. I watched this video and it was ok until the end. You did not show how to put the presser foot back on the serger. This is my first serger and I am having a very difficult time figuring it out. I cannot see what it snaps back on to. This does not snap back on like a regular sewing machines. I'm afraid of pushing it too far for fear of breaking something else.

Thank you very much. Drats but I'm butterfingers at it! I put a piece of paper underneath though because if there is a chance at dropping the needles inside, my shaking hands will do it.

with pressure foot up place pressure hook over place on foot and lower the pressure foot it will snap right on

Hi there. Thanks for your vid - really helpful. I have a nearly new cheaper model serger that has been sitting in my shed for about 10 years. I had accidentally put one of the needles in the wrong way around (flat to the front). It jammed and snapped off in the needle holder when I tried to free it and that was the end of that. Have been going to sell it cheap online but never got around to it. I don't have the finance to have it professionally repaired and wonder if there is a way I can do it myself without doing further damage? I have learned a few things since - like paying attention when replacing needles as I have another serger so promise I won't do anything so dumb again :) Thanks

With all the questions on how do I put pressure foot on. You need to push lever in and center your foot an drop the pressure foot. It should got right into place. BUT you need to push the release lever in, because it hooks under the pressure foot.

Hi, I have change my needles and when I put them down the seem to make a sound like click as they hit other part of the inside and doesnt stitch what do you think is wrong!? Thank yoy

How the hell do you get your needles in so easily? It took me 1 hour yesterday to be able to do this. I can't see the hole for the R needle and it wouldn't go in where I thought. Turned the machine any way possible and could not see. Finally for some reason, near the end it went in. Now, your fingers are bigger than mine and I have trouble getting into that small space. How do you manage to not get the bottom of your needles caught in the feet and everything else? You make it look so easy. Why is it so hard for my machine? Thank you very much for this video though.

I have the same serger....the problem is that the presserfoot lever does not work...the foot will not raise..could you address how to fix this problem....I really need my serger.

Yes, the serger (overlocker) that I use, does use regular sewing machine needles. Check your overlocker manual for recommended sizes of needles for best results.

Savannah Lloyd mine came with universal needles sizes 80/12 and 90/14. Not sure if you can just use any needle but I've just installed Jersey needles.

My screw is not a Allen screw...nor is the wrench an Allen wrench. Its pointy at one end and round at the other. The screw has no grooves like a regular Allen screw.
