Thanks for the video. I am just about to do oil change on my forester. Dude sick Ferrari. Cheap beer is law. Never trust anyone that works on cars that drinks expensive beer while doing it. It eventually gets warm and warm expensive beer is disgusting while warm cheap beer is actually palatable. About the oil filter: that tool is a universal tool. A couple years ago I picked up a oil filter tool that attaches to a 3/8 socket and hence you can attach any 3/8 extension. Works great with a 3/8 wrench and socket for those types of filter setups. Anyways gave me a heads up. Cheers.

You can find oil filter wrenches that have 3 vertical arms the tighten around the bottom of a oil filter with a socket wrench or socket wrench and extension. It would be easier on a oil filter like that.

You can remove the plastic cover first to get better access, that's what it says in the owners manual anyway...

I thought about learning how to change the oil and filter on my Subaru, but once I saw that beer I decided to spend my money on beer..Did you make those ramps out of legos??? From the sound as they scraped on the floor I don't think I'd trust myself under the car...Just another good reason to drink beer instead...

you just need a wrench that can be connected to extender , they sell them at walmart . I bought the whole set of different wrenches, and they work great for all kinds of filters

Would it help to remove that entire plastic bash-plate assembly underneath, or is that not possible without breaking it? I'm going to have a go at this myself on the weekend, I have no idea what I'm doing wish me luck lol

Use a Mazda N3R1-14 -302 factory oil filter (RX-8) . Screws straight on..nearly twice the capacity..and a lot easier to remove and install.

should fill new oil filter with oil before installing.. also a filter removal tool that fits all around the filter makes removing and installing a lot easier... really don't need all the f_ _ _ _ _ _g cussing..
