I've been getting a lot of questions about how I changed my natural hair curl pattern and what I did to transition. It can be really difficult getting your curls to cooperate. So In this video, I will be sharing with you a few tips on how I altered my curls a little and trained them to be healthier and thicker. At the end of the day you should love the curls that you were born with and take pride in your hair!
I am not a professional and I'm not promising that you will have the same results as me but I would recommend trying it out !

hey I don't think it's your hair texture that changed it's the health of your hair ! IT looked damaged and now you're taking care of it so the natural healthy texture is showing. Our curls tighten and loosen based on length and moisture but I don't think it's a change in curl pattern.

your hair is still 3a/3b hair before your hair was either damaged or weighed down now you have alot more hair growing out of your scalp and there is no damage

Your hair is beautiful. Your are correct that trimming your ends is not an option; it is a requirement. I learned the hard way.

I straightened my hair for 1.5 years straight. It took 2 years of no heat and only wearing wigs to grow out my hair. My hair is the same length as it was pre straightening, but the curls when from 3A1, to 4a/b. Yes my hair was that damaged! Its all shrinkage now!

The longer your hair is the more tension at the roots which causes the curl pattern to get stretched out and looks like looser curls/coils

Flower No that's not true. Your hair doesn't magically change textures when it gets longer. Especially if you deal with shrinkage. What this person said makes no sense and it's not true.

A Texture and curl pattern are not the same thing. I never said that the curls don’t get looser, I stated that if your hair is thick, coarse, fine, or thin (aka texture), it won’t change with length.

My hair doesn’t know what it is and is very difficult to manage it’s always super frizzy and sometimes very curly and other time half is straight and the other is wavy even though I don’t have your curly hair type this really helps! Thanks for sharing with us 🙏😘

Thanks for sharing!.. Other than the health (including any heat or color damage and the level of moisture retention you're achieving), the cut and style of your curls, and of course any possible hormonal changes that can "change" the texture of your hair over the years, I noticed that my curl pattern will "change" depending on the actual length of my hair at the time.. Or at least it will just look like it.. But you're definitely right, people tend to have more than one curl pattern..

My hair changed from straight to wavy, then wavier, then curly as I got older. Hormonal changes ;) I probably got the curls from my mum... but looking after it by using these tips and some more across youtube, your hair does get better

Actually it can... I used to have curly hair. Years from styling bc of dance and performances, my hair is now wavy/pin straight in some sections. Sad , because all though I’ve trimmed it countless times, it’s still not growing in the same.

Question ✋ honestly because I don't know and I don't go much with trend Hair topics or anything so I know nothing about this hair chart. So from what I've seen three a b you said your hair was and now it's more for 3C 4A? Is that a good thing or is that something that just happens when people go natural? I've always been natural and when I had a stylus he's not big into hair chart either but he is very aware of what hair texture is. He said my hair was a 2C 3A. He also said the hair in the for range and up is definitely more course, kinky and tightly coiled he said was the proper PC name so I was just wondering does everybody's hair get coarse an experience that big of a change in their hair type? I'm just curious of anyone who can enlighten me I'd appreciate it.

Your looked somewhat damaged. For me, I had to work to find the right products. I also believed in deep conditioning and moisturizing, even when I had a perm. My hair was dry when went natural. I thought I didn't have a real curl pattern, but once I found the right products my hair is awesome.

how do you recommend trimming naturally oily hair so you're not trimming too much? Should I blow dry it first so I can see how im doing it and to make sure its even or should I just go to a professional?

*When I put gel on my hair and brush it up it doesn’t get all smooth and slick it’s still frizzy even after putting a scarf but when my mom does my little sisters hair it slicks up so easily and it’s not ruff like mines so I wanna change the texture of my hair so it’s like my sisters*

I am a white girl, but my hair is a 3a. I’m trying to not use brushes in my hair at all, but it gets frizzy. I went from waist length hair recently to shoulder n the curls bounced right back up. I only wash it once a week, I’m afraid the texture id will make my scalp oily. I’ve used it twice, but not enough I think of the styling cream bc it poofs some still as tho I brushed the crap out of it. When do you comb yours if at all? Just fingers?

For my curls I say take daily hair skin and nail vitamins ITS NOT WHAT YOU PUT on your hair it’s what you put in your body your hair comes from the inside of your head not the outside, vitamins, trim when needed and deep conditioning and moisture hair daily or weekly or USE RICE WATER!!!

I haven't trimmed my hair in 15 years...I've always asked my mom and she would say I don't need it...and I had and still have so much split ends...I wanted to trim so that when I'm of age, I wouldn't have to cut it off, but thinking imma have to cut it off and my hair is my beauty...I have dark brown 4b hair..but it's damaged and it broke a lot, and still breaks but not as much...

Hey girl the first few times you should probably go to the salon and then after a few times you can learn how to do it on your own ! I have a video on my channel showing one method and talking about other methods to do it on your own. Or you can watch other videos on youtube !

Your hair may be damaged or not moisturized enough to curl. Probably you should change some products or some of your techniques in your routine to see if its something that youre doing or if it's your hair type
