How to Choose the Right Diet for Your Body Type | Joanna Soh
If you have been eating well and exercising regularly, yet you’re not getting the results you’re looking for, perhaps you are still unknowingly doing the wrong thing for your body type. Some of you might have even tried all the diets out there - low fat, low carbs, high fat, high protein, but nothing seems to work and you just don’t know what to do. Not every diet suits every one! If you want to see effective results, the diet you choose needs to be optimal according to your genetics.
Watch this video as I share dive a little deeper into the different diets (Healthy Balance, Low Carb, Low Fat & Mediterranean) and share which will best suit you according to your body type. Can you please do more “ full body strength training with no weights” and “ full body HIIT workouts” please. I have recently been diagnosed with pcos and I found some of your strength and HIIT workouts and let me tell you they are awesome. But there isn’t much for me to choose as there is not many videos like this. Hope you see my comment. Love you 😽

Thanks for sharing the portion ratio. I’m certainly carbs sensitive, I crave for it but it makes me feel unwell and it slows down my weight loss even if I eat just complex carbs.

I would just like to say thank Joanna. I recently discovered your channel, however, you have played such a vital role in my new fitness journey. Prior lockdown, I was a gym bunny and loved and still strength training. The lockdown really changed everything and threw me in a whole new world. I honestly was unable to adjust, even with the help of home workouts I found on KZfaq. That all changed however when I discovered this channel last month. I have gained my consistency and motivation. I have set new goals for my body, and for the first time since lockdown, I know what it is that I am doing. I love working out at home, and it is all because of you. It is as if you're in my living room coaching me through all the workouts. I have lost 3.4 kgs and am back to my previous weight, but now I have new goals, so I want to push myself and discover a less muscular but leaner frame. Thank you Joanna.

I myself goes to the gym regularly, and once that routine is broken, it can truly demotivate you. I happy to know that you've found a way to workout from home and that it has given you the consistency and motivation again! I lose weight doing low carb diet and regular exercise,I also have hormonal imbalance and it helps a lot.By the way its 7am here and woke up this early getting ready to do your 1000 squat and lunges challenge workout😄Not sure if I can do this but will do my best😂

Haven't done the test but the explanation you gave highlighted some reactions I have towards certains type of food. I don't do well with "bad" unhealthy fat like fries, high amount of cheese and I just don't like it. I'm vegetarian and I just love the good fat like avocado and nuts 💚 but I also have a sensibility toward refined carbs. I guess I might be low fat or meditarrean! Thanks for this video you are so full of knowledges ❤️

A few years ago, I had drastically reduced my carb intake, I was focusing on eating smaller portions more frequently throughout the day due to having a small child (had no time to eat). I maybe had two servings of simple carbs in a week (I like pasta way too much to completely cut it out). I lost literally like 80 pounds in a year and a half! I was eating ALOT of veggies and fruits, nuts good fats, and smaller portions sizes of lean meats.....I also ate much less pork products.

I eat a high nutrition Mediterranean diet with low starch & no or very little sugar. I work in front of a computer screen so green leafy, foods good for eyes are important and proteins.

HI Joanna. I just love your videos. I did a DNFit test 3 years ago, and got the result that I have a "medium-low" carbohydrate sensitivity and "low" fat sensitivity, and DNAFit recommended a Mediterranean Diet plan for me. That is not what cicledna recommends for my type? Does the Circledna test also tell you about your Power and endurance profile? I have a 42,9% Power response and 57,1 Endurance response, and was told that this means I have a hard time gaining muscle mass. Would love to know your profile?

Question- I workout regularly but on some days I feel short of breath while doing the easiest of the workout and on the other days, I do the hardest cardio and strength training without having breathing issues. I feel it's related to the food or sleep of that particular day, your insights please? Thank you ❤️

In my case, sleep n rest plays major part in my exercise ! When I have good night's sleep ,next day I have good workout! N after 8 days work out 1 or 2 day rest repairs aching if any !

A mix of Meat, fruit, veggies with a calorie deficit if the goal is fat loss. That’s more than 99% of what people will ever need. The end

I have not seen any scientific evidence that we are at the stage that a DNA test can reliable predict based on genes what you should eat. So, yeah ... a balanced diet with a calorie deficit is what's needed. It's better to listen to one's body when a questionable DNA result from a company. I like what Joanna does - but this part with the DNA tests, I think she fell victim to some good marketing strategists. And again - is it paid promotion that she should declare?

I'm not in your shoes, and it's hard for me to advice you. I hope you will be able to open up to someone you trust and share with that person. It will make you feel better. I hope that my workout videos will help you get stronger physically and mentally too. I know of a friend who has gone through severe depression and since she prioritise her workouts, it has changed her life for the better. Sending my love to you. 😘

Cuz they don't understand. Now I feel good. Cuz you are the first one who knows about my feelings. I am only 17 years old. And dealed with a lot of things. You maybe thinking that I am just a kid,, what do i know,,, But believe me! I cried a lot of night in my bed,,,, depression is the worst pain I guess. I was continuously stressed and every single minute was harder for me to live. I couldn't even cry in those days, cuz I have my family. But I even couldn't share my feeling with them. (I am sorry maybe I wrote too long. Actually after a lot of time I am talking to someone about the problems of mine. I am sorry if I have disturbed you. Or wasted your time.) Maybe you would not remember even my name,, but I love you so much joanna,, SIS!!!

I really want to focus on my diet, and I follow your diet or a proper meal videos. Still I feel Im not understanding my body, like what it needs, what is good for me and what is not. And I really want to try this but the issue is I can't afford it right now. Any piece of advice for me please, how can I understand my better for proper nutrition, because I'm vegetarian , I don't eat meat, fish, chicken and that's the main reason for lack of protein in my body.

Vegetarian proteins come from milk products, eggs, legumes, soy products like tofu and are partly found in nuts and seeds.

It's true that you can get protein from a lot of plant based foods too. So I don't think being a vegetarian will cause you to be lack in protein. As a foundation, always think of consuming a balanced diet - 1/2 veggies , 1/4 protein, 1/4 healthy carbs. Consume real whole foods. I think once you can nail this down, slowly you will feel the changes in your body.

I always plan on doing a healthier lifestyle diet change, but it never sticks. I think I have a good addiction or just very weak will power 😣

I don't believe in will power as it's tough. Perhaps you're expecting too much from yourself and trying to change too many things too quickly. My advice will be to pick up ONE positive habit at a time. It's not about "changing" the old habits, but rather, it's about focusing your attention on the "new positive" habit. Once you have made the change, then pick up another positive habit. Take it one step at a time, because you want to be able to sustain it. In backing you can use flex, chia or soy flour, mashed banana or apple sauce "eggs". For egg dishes try vegan "egg" scramble made of tofu or vegan "omlett" made of chickpea flour, both with kalanamak salt for the egg taste.

Yes!! I love coffee and drink it regularly too. But because my body is more sensitive towards caffeine, I would limit my intake to only 2 cups a day and before 2pm. 😁
