How to CLEAN a China ATV Carburetor!

Step by Step!
In today's video, we'll be working on a Daymak 150cc China ATV.
There's all sorts of issues on this machine, but in this video we're just going to be focusing on the carburetor cleaning!
I show you how to remove the carburetor, and how to disassemble it!
After it's disassembled, we then move on to the cleaning process.
Once the carb is cleaned, I show you how to reassemble it, and make the proper adjustments!
We then reinstall the carburetor onto the ATV, and start it up for the 1st time in over a year!
I then show you how to adjust the idle.

Wow. I can’t believe how thorough you explained everything. I’ve been terrified of trying to disassemble and clean my king quad carb so I’m starting small with my daughters 50cc viper carb and I’m 100% confident I can clean her carb now and get her quad running right. Amazing video. Just what I was looking for. One detail I’m dealing with right now that was mentioned is the bb sized ball bearing. It fell out when I turned the carb right side up now I can’t figure out where it goes. But it looks like it’s the same exact carb that you are working on

Very informative video on the carburettor and centrifugal clutch operation on this Daymac Quad. Your Eliminators should be extremely careful when buying these machines used since basically they are like Bic lighters ie: disposable, they may find that the cost of repair is beyond what the ATV is worth and may be better off buying a Honda or other quality made ATV. Saying that, they also should know that when buying any used equipment there is always wear and people normally are not selling something because they don't have issues with it! You likely have run into this with some of the mowers and other equipment you have taken as trade in on your fully serviced equipment ie: low compression and basically a scrap engine.

I have this exact Chinese quad! But mine doesn’t have a kickstart.. anyways I bought it for $100 cause it wasn’t running, I then replaced all the electrical for $40 replaced the gear and starter clutch for $60 and bought a new carb for $70 and everything up to now is working and doing its job! The last piece to make it run is in the mail right now and it will be here tomorrow:)

Also I find when cleaning carburetors , I find a new tooth brush work great for cleaning out the jets and Q tips. Hope this helps everyone.

Old video but, JIS screwdrivers are your friend. Those are JIS screws and Phillips screwdrivers will damage them.

Good video IV done the carby on my 150 IP57QMJ engine I have taken the Jets out they were blocked done a clean on them the engine runs but won't idle on its own I'm thinking I haven't seated the Jets correctly and I can't find any information on them so far

Thanks! The ATV I got has a mod, where its a handlebar twist for throttle that goes to the top of the carb, but I see the thumb throttle still here with its cable just hanging. How can I switch the cable? In your video it seems the cable is attached to the cap mechanism? Does the cable and the cap come apart?

Do you need to put a lubricant or some coolant inside the carburetor? When I took mine apart it had some green liquid come pouring out of it. Is that oil or coolant?

Not bad machines for the money..but if you don't like to check bolts and use lock tight..these are not for you..lol and you got to check bolts all the time..i I love welding my custom stuff on these and don't feel bad about it

The metering tube does it have a hole running through the centre like from top all the way through?cos in my other bike it has hole running from top to bottom as well as through the sides

Hey, i got myself a chinese 250cc ATV and quickly cleaned the carb, but when i start the atv and rev it, the throttle starts breaking up. It revs up but then bounces and breaks up even tho the throttle is held at the same position. Any ideas what could cause that? It idles and stays running, usually the idle gets uncomfortably high for no reason which is why I went to clean the carb in the first place. Any help is appreciated.

Hey there... well i have a question. I just get one. Free. But. It wont star... it just cranks but wont star. It has new fuel filter. But looks like it doesnt suck fuel. . What can be the problem...??. Sir. And nice video. I hope to fix mine.

Oh man can u explain the gas lines .i have the same carb but lines r mixed up.simply explain the dirtection of the lines from the tank to and from the carb .i have a gas line coming from my tank going ..nowhere .i have a line going from the front of my ..engine running around the right side to left to a shut off valve. On the other side of the shut of valve through a filter to the ..intake ..i have at the bottom a small line underneath for overflow .thats it .i dont know who did it .but if u could quickly run me through where the lines actually run starting from the tank that would be amazing. I did like and subscribe.the shut off valve has only ends on it .im thinking maybe its not the right valve .maybe i need one with a vaccume on it ?

My needle valve was stuck closed I pulled the carby apart and the needle valve doesn't have the metal clip hooking it to the float is this normal in some models or would the old owner have done this?

After using Ultrasonic cleaners myself, they are absolutely worth the money as they clean carburetors professionally! Nothing else compares to an Ultrasonic cleaner.

Pogimo I got mine at a small engine repair shop, you could try a Canadian tire, or maybe a princess Auto. Even an industrial supply store. Just ask for a concentrated degreaser!

On mine the atomiser jet is blocked solid any ideas on cleaning it ? the holes in the side are clear but the hole through the centre is block solid

You might have luck using a welding tip cleaner kit if you think you could break it with some wire

Can you help if you know? When I have the gas line turned on my grizzly it will not start with or without choke but if i turn the gas line off it starts and runs until the gas in the bowl is empty then it cuts out. Do you know anything I can do to fix it?

IT might have a leaking needle valve, meaning the carb is flooding with fuel. After not running it for a while, with gas valve ON, check spark plug and see if its wet with fuel. Also smell the oil, if it smells gassy, replace needle valve in carburetor!

hay. my china atv only ran when i had choke on alittle. would not run without. it died right away. and now after driving it alittle with 5 % choke on and barely anny power. it died and now its just puffing air out and not igniting. ive check for spark.

Most Chinese ATV carburetors are non adjustable, FYI YOUR DEALER will tell you its out of warranty if carb is messing up, BUT LOOK INTO YOUR OWNERS MANUAL UNDER FEDERAL ADMISSIONS WARRANTY!¡!!!!!! COVERS IT FOR 30 MONTHS AND BUNCH OTHER PARTS, THIS GOES FOR CARS, TRUCKS, BIKES , ALL MOTORS IN USA.
