How To Clean WHITE Running Shoes | Nikes and Converse

Hey guys,
A little bit of a different video for you guys, so I had figured out a really quick and effective way to clean those pearly white sneakers a.k.a. WHITE Nike Juvenate / Converse.
This was super easy and I hope it helps you from having to sit on your computer for hours researching the best way to clean them ... like i did.

Products I used:
- any pair of running shoe/ training shoe/ sneakers
- oxyclean / stain remover
- light detergent
- soft sponge (pretty sure the one I had was from the dollar store)
- tooth brush
- washing machine
- mesh bag (if you want to ensure your sneakers are safe from the washer)
- some towels

Fyi: use cold water n not hot. It turns your shoes yellow. That's a tip not a lot of people mention in their videos.

True, the glue begins to seep out when water is too hot, then the yellowing begins. There's not much you can do after that, maybe chalky white shoe polish. Lol

Omg this worked SO WELL. I tried just throwing my sneakers into the wash once after scrubbing with Dawn and it barely worked. The oxy clean was magical! I used a scrub sponge and it did the trick on my nikes and converse. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

I tried this with speculation and it freakin worked beyond wonder. First I removed the shoe laces and then I filled a bowl with cool tap water and put in about 3/4 scoop of oxi clean stain remover and used a brush I scrubbed the shoes until they were wet and soapy and you can tell of the grime was coming out I also brushed the laces . Then I put them in the washer without the mesh bag because I didn’t have one but I did put some white hand towels and some white socks so the shoes wouldn’t fly around too much. I added about 1/2 of a cup maybe some more arm and hammer detergent and I sprinkled a little bit more of the oxi clean inside the shoe and on the load. I washed them with COLD water on medium soil so it wouldn’t be too rough and they came out looking brand new just need to let them AIR DRY definitely recommend this

Put them in a small pillow case...laces can get caught in the agitator of the washer, so be careful!

Thanks for sharing your video about this, I should probably take out my stinky converse from the trash which I have not thought about cleaning them until you have solved it for by your great video. They are very stinky from my feet sweat staining, I do wear socks with them. But I will now wash them. Thank you so much ❤️

That’s the same thing I do to my roshe’s . I use tide with stain remover in it, that works WONDERS, especially when I’m spot treating my shoes

I sell factory outlets shoe here. Some of em came in bad conditions, due to bad storage handling. 1half r so white, d other half r a bit yellowing. I'll try this. Btw, can u give me d list of needed materials to do that?

The only concern would be the shoe might break down sooner and some cushion isn’t built for that amount of water in the shoe and the spin cycle could damage the shape.

Magic eraser works best on shoe bottoms, especially converse! And I find using OxyClean with comet and plain white toothpaste & toothbrush to scrub the white converse works great!

I followed all instructions in the video but my stores didnt have regular oxiclean. They had oxiclean max laundry stain remover. And I used tide studio delicates laundry detergent. Shoes came out yellow

I have a question. Are you spraying both shoes with the oxyclean then damping the sponge and scrubbing? Or just spraying the sponge? And as for he light detergent? You just popped them in the wash after so that they don't smell like cleaner anymore? I have a pair of of Nike air Max's that's I love it they are filthy so I can't wait to try this!

Ok don’t dismiss me with the mention of dollar tree , but I wonder if their stain removing prewash can be used instead of the oxi? Anyone tried? I have had unbelievable results with it elsewhere and never would have believed it but I followed a video suggestion and tried it and it’s insane awesome

My problem with using detergent is after the shoes all dried up, it gets a yellow stain especially on all white shoes. What would be the solution? Especially for the mesh/foam lining inside

Sounds like you bleached them yellow. A little weird as you wouldn't expect there to be any chlorine bleaching agents in laundry detergent. But there's no way to reverse that if the yellow won't rinse out

Hot water and bleach may have been the cause. Cold water wash only hand and machine.

I always smell my shoes after I wash them too! No worries. Really good video! Will definitely try this with a new pair of white shoes I just bought in the near future. (I typically never buy any white shoes at all because of not knowing how to keep them white). Now I will buy white shoes all the time!

Make sure you take the insoles out before washing! Foam insoles can be ruined in a washing machine...they're best cleaned outside the shoe anyway.
