I take mine to the car wash lol high pressure soap and high pressure rinse works very well and anything left on if I am working on a saw then I use mineral spirits in a big Rubbermaid tote and parts brush then break clean to remove mineral spirits for servicing

And a clean saw is a happy saw😁 and parts seem to last longer.

I found that super clean is the best I spray it on the chainsaw let it sit for 10 minutes then spray it with the hose and it looks brand new I have some very dirty saws and it works great on them

I clean plastic parts in the dishwasher. Scrape all the heavy stuff off first of course. Everything else I do by hand or solvent tank.

I’m the same way , but I believe I’m a little worst then you, I’ve fired guys for not taken half way decent care of there saw , I’ve gave guys new saws and look at them few weeks later and the look like junk , that gets my blood boiling they just throw them around and never wipe them of or take a air hose to them and blow the saw dust of the saw and I have a shop with a air compressor and service truck with a air compressor on it is at the jobs every day,

Yeah I totally hear you there. If its your passion, and working is "fun" then its all worth it. Let me know if you want or need any farmertec saws. I'll give you the best deal I can. Thanks for watching.

Everyone like to make a huge mess. Air blow it when it dry. Loosening all the crud w a big flathead. Then wipe it off. I want to know how yall keep water out of the fuel tank? Of course you have to tip it amd blow nasty gas water all over. Sounds great.

Man I'm late on this vid.... anyone kno if Simple Green works well? My dad used to use it for most things around the house and shop but we always just used compressed air and paper towels for power tools. I think I'm going to try it out today if I have enough time after work God bless.

WD-40, let it soak, use small screwdriver to pick and scrap. Wipe off as you go. Than compressed air.. I like to flush bottom end with Rich two stroke fuel, and drain out.

Problem is the many prior owners who never ever blew the grime, oil and sawdust out of every nook and cranny inside the saw, never clean or degrease, then sell you a cheap “running” powerhead on EBay. Then, instead of putting saw to work, I, being scrupulously clean with my own pro saws, am too disgusted to let such nice formerly glorious saws get put to work looking like crap. I just picked up a vintage 288xp . Not only is every square centimeter filthy, but some genius tried to paint over oily, greasy, dirty metal and plastic and the paint comes off on my gloves, but now the film is trapped under the paint so I have to strip it to the bare metal to be able to prime and paint it. Let’s not even talk about the reckless indifference to the mechanicals. Caveat emptor. If I didn’t love old Husky’s I’d toss this in a dumpster, but I can’t blame the saw for its dumb owner. But I can blame the dummy writing this for buying the saw..

Pretty pointless video I would say! Most of us don’t have a parts cleaner like yours. Have to do it the time consuming way. 🤷🏻♂️

We’ll this video sucked, it’s not a “how to” video , it’s put saws into a cleaner then listening to a guy chatting about his day around the shop #boring 🥱😴
