I loved the fry+steam option. My frozen dumpling came out awesome. I tried to air fry them earlier but they were not good. Heard bad reviews about boiling and microwave steam so didn't try that. Yesterday tried your fry +water+steam option and they came out really nice. Thanks a lot for this amazing video.

For the panfried with oil water it is much simpler and cleaner (and safer!) if, before putting the pan on the stove, you put in about 30-40 ml of oil (2-3 tbsp) and then fill the pan with only about 6 or 7 mm water (~1/4 inch). Then put it over the heat with a cover and get it to boil. Take frozen dumplings and put them in the pan, mixing into the oil like Aaron shows in the video. Cover again and wait a minute or two for it to start boiling. Give another minute or so and take the cover off. Once the water boils off, the dumplings are fully thawed and the frying begins. Perfecting the browning can take experience, but one clue is that the carbs that seep into the oil and water from the boiling phase will also fry around the edges of the dumpling. The color of this stuff as it fries will indicate what the bottom of the dumplings is about to look like. On last tip: if you have dumplings with a lot of fat, like the 고기 만두 from Bibigo, you almost never need oil, just water. The 고기 provides enough and oh man, the fat tastes so much better than oil! P.S. Aaron, please do not put plastic bags in the microwave! So unhealthy!

Love steamed dumplings. Got a metal steamer just like in the video but found I had trouble with dumplings wanting to stick. There was no way to get them off in one piece. Tried spraying with a bit of oil first. That worked but was a messy clean up. Finally layered the steamer with a few cabbage leaves. Voila! Perfect dumplings. No stick, no tear, no messy clean up and the cabbage tastes pretty darn good from the dumpling juices too.

The quality of your hard work pops and comes through to the audience. The both of you vibe a kind and generous spirit IMO. Great work. I am going to try your Ramyen advice. My favorite vid so far. I also enjoy the parts when the two of you converse in Korean and you put the subtitles in. My son's best friend is a former korean national. I learned soo much language from him and his family. A huge blessing was that friend's mother was a cook. Her food was EXCELLENT! I love the Korean people and their food. Keep up the good work. Lastly, Claire you are a beautiful woman. I am by NO means a dumpling expert! And I will absolutely try all of these when I get some dumplings from the store! The way I’ve made them was to boil the dumplings in water until they are soft and then in a frying pan I fry them until golden brown then add a mixture of soy sauce and brown sugar and cook a little while longer. That’s the only way I’ve ever made them so it gets boring and I don’t have them very often anymore! Now I have new ways to try!!! Thank you!!💙

I just fry them frozen on high heat, optionally flipping them to brown more sides, pour in a couple tablespoons of water, cover and lower the heat for a couple of minutes. The steam from the water ensures it's all thawed and cooked. When microwaving, I wrap them in paper towels then wet the paper towels then cover with a lid or saran wrap and microwave. In ramen, I just throw in the frozen dumplings with the noodles in the broth. The easiest is to just boil them.

I love store brought korean dumpling but i dont like the price tag in Australia. I love fried ones the best. I love the texture of it being fried on the bottom and steams on the top
