On it’s own, it is a popular as a side dish for breakfast and lunch, and at night, it transforms into a popular izakaya style snack with the addition of cheese, mentaiko, natto, and other custom fillings!

This one is so much harder than it looks! It definitely takes some practice to get the hang of it, but if you can nail this recipe, you'll be able to create this beloved side-dish and pair it with any other Japanese table spread!

I consider myself an “experienced” maker of tamagoyaki but I learned so many things from this video! I’ve never popped the bubbles and I usually stir a lot-but I’m not careful about the egg whites. Now I know for next time and hopefully I’ve leveled up with these little secrets! Ahh~ I just love Japanese food so much. One thing I’ve learned from Japanese cooking regularly, is that Eggs are actually super tricky things. The omelette on omurice is also sooo tricky… I need to do some slow breathing exercises before I fry it up. 😂 I like the Japanese guy laughing in the background of this video 😂 reminds me of watching friends lol

I love his laugh too. He's the only guy who ever laughs at my jokes.
