The "Boogie Boy" song is great! It reminds me of John Sykes and Jake E Lee styles! Nice job blending those two amps. It's the hot ticket if you can run a Marshall and a Mesa at the same time. People do this on the AxeFX-III all the time. I think I would like to hear an ENGL Savage blend with a EVH Stealth! It's fun to think about different combinations of our favorite amps. That Radial ABY switcher is cool!

I didn't have much luck with the Radial Hot shot for running my amps, I use the Earthquaker Swissthings pedal to split to my Carvin X50B with 4x12 cab and the other line goes to my Marshall jcm800 4010 combo, and I run another line out from my MXR stereo chorus (mono) to my Peavey stereo chorus 212. I've been running this setup for awhile, absolutely amazing frequency spread! I have a couple of different overdrives on the pedal board, Ibanez Nu-tube screamer, Boss 40th Anniversary SD1 and an MXR Zakk Wylde overdrive. And a Zakk Wylde wah. Thats it. The sound is huge!

Another outstanding video. It's a bit off topic Euge, but when you look back over time, and see all the legendary guitar tones that put Marshall on the map (EVH, Warren DiMartini, Hendrix).....one of my favorite tones of all time that's right up there with EVH's Fair Warning, and DiMartini's "Invasion" tone, is *Nuno Bettencout's tone on the FIRST Extreme album.* His tone on that first albums is one of the best guitar tones I've ever heard. Ironically, I don't really like Nuno's tone as much on the other albums. I always said that if EVH could re-record Fair Warning today, it would have the tone that Nuno got on that first album. If you ever get around to it, add that to the "Fun guitar tones to dial in", list. 🤘

Thanks man! All great tones indeed 👌. I have an old Guitar World (or Player) Magazine interview of Nuno when the first Extreme album came out and he states that he used a Marshall JCM800 2203 boosted with a Rat on that album 👌🤟. Gotta find my old Rat pedal so I could do a video about that tone 😎.

@@EugeValovirta230V You know I think I heard that somewhere as well, now that you mention it…. I also heard something about a. Laney AOR on that album, as well. Something about the a Marshall in one channel, and a Laney in the other. Have you heard that, Euge?? That RAT pedal must be one hell of a pedal, because I’ve never heard a JCM800 sound anything CLOSE to that. I knew he used a Marshall, but didn’t realize it was an 800. That’s really interesting, and inspiring if it’s truly that simple. And, again, not a ton of gain. Yes, tone comes from the fingers….but an A chord is an A chord. When you get around to it, that will be one hell of a video. If it truly is that simple, I’ll pick up an 800 and a RAT pedal tomorrow!….LOL. I wonder what guitar/pick-ups he used on that album That’s certainly going to make a difference, as well. Anyway, I’m rambling. Yeah, I think a LOT of people would love to see you try and get that tone…..🤟. Almost make me want to pick up one of these Studio Marshall 800’s and that RAT pedal to see how close I can get…..but, I think I’ll wait for your video first :-)

the sound I've been using for dirt the last 12 years is a blend (using the radial ABY....same pedal) of an EL34 amp and an 6L6 amp. It blends well due to the differences in sound those amps make. In my case it was a Marshall tsl / dual rectifier combo. HUGE sound. Since I've gotten a mark V which is even better. I'm gonna try mark V / blackstar combo next since the blackstars are very Marshall like. I haven't found anything that is bigger than the Marshall/ mesa combo. I really want to try a fender / vox combo tho for blues tones

I've never been able to blend two amplifiers. The phase in the rhythm guitars was a little bit annoying to me. I listened to Mike Plotnikoff's interview and started doing this: take one guitar with one amp and cabinet, write a double track, then I take a second another guitar with another amp and cabinet and also do a double track. It sounds much bigger and wider. Sometimes I add a third pair. The main thing is to take guitars with different scales. Try it sometime. But thanks a lot for the video. As always, it is pleasant and interesting to watch.

If it sounds good it sounds good. I’ve recorded occasionally like this: one for lows, one for mids and one for highs. This way they all sound like shit on their own ’cos I’ve dialled them to give me just certain frequencies but together they work. You know like: The low end of a 5150, the upper mid bite of a Marshall and smooth top of a Fender for example.

I use a cheap behringer chorus pedal to run my dsl20 and rectoverb 25 at the same time . I guess it’s a poor man’s John Sykes rig lol . I don’t think I have any phase issues , but I do get a little ground hum . It’s not enough to bother me, but my girlfriend says why is it making that noise and why is it hissing ? Doesn’t it drive you nuts ? I’ll say no not really but I could use a noise gate , aby box , and a power conditioner, if you insist I buy some more gear . Hey Euge , have you ever tried the TC electronics mimiq pedal ? I’ve been wanting to get one it’s kinda a chorus delay de tune that simulates a double track or mimiqs another player. They make a mimi one that only has one output and that defeats the purpose of the pedal in my opinion . Anyway I have always thought that would be a cool pedal you can make your mono sound big with an aby and some modulation but you can never make it sound like two different guitarists playing the same rhythm .

Yes 100% I do this often. Set the input to the same input channel from your interface on your daw on two tracks. Lower both tracks volume sliders until the master out doesn’t clip. Pan them both the same direction or center. Load the same or different IR’s on both tracks to taste, and blend subtractively by lowering volume sliders on either track to find the sweet spot. My favorite blend was a MK3 sim and an Orange sim with an hm-2 boosting the latter.
