Updated mini-video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b7qkasdpneC2aXU.html I WILL BE UPDATING THIS VIDEO, BUT HERE IS THE RELEVANT INFO TO NOW AS OF ARIL 2021 This video is about a year old at this time, and there have been SOME changes - not a ton! A lot of the early things leading up to the point of creating your kingdom are still highly pertinent! The big difference is that NOW you can simply create a kingdom by becoming Clan Tier 4, going to the Kingdom Tab and selecting "Create a Kingdom." I will say though, if you follow this guide, RELEASE ANY AND ALL LORDS YOU CAPTURE. This will allow you to build your relations with the minor clans throughout Calradia. Then, when you Create your kingdom, you can quickly recruit those clans. What you're going to run into, if you just hit "create kingdom," is that a lot of the bigger Kingdoms are going to try to kill you off fast. So, you need to make sure you're ready to recruit minor clans to your Kingdom as fast as possible. IN ADDITION! Leading up to the creation of your kingdom, get your Steward and Leadership as high as possible. Steward can be maximized by having a high variety of food in your inventory and assigning yourself as Quartermaster in the Party Screen. In the most recent patches, this will SKY ROCKET, so don't worry about getting there before long. Leadership is a bit trickier, but not too hard. Become a vassal for any kingdom, find a companion that has high natural leadership and steward, make that companion lead their own party. From there, you'll create an army, and then summon that companion to you - it will cost you 0 influence and no influence to upkeep them, but you'll be able to run around and do everything you normally would while also gaining Leadership experience. I'm waiting for Patch v1.6 to hopefully update this guide, but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask! :)

Just to keep Bortukali's previous pinned comment on top: Bortukali Pt 11 months ago When you have your own kingdom before you go recruiting clans its also a good idea to use some influence and pass policies that increase faction ruler army size and influence gain. These are best to do before you have clans because they generaly vote against it so if you do them when alone they will always pass, and you don´t lose relations with anyone of your clans.

kind of unnecessarily long video to answer a simple question. You go to the Clan page and click on Fiefs and assign a governor to one of your castles. Then go talk to them and they will bring up the dialogue to set up a kingdom.

Is there a way that a minor clan will leave a major faction or get dropped out?
@italianspartacus
@italianspartacus 4 жыл бұрын
Yes! So the minor clans will come and go according to the major clans relative strength to their enemy. As long as the mercenary contract is good, they'll stay. So, basically, they join the losing side... Well the losing side at the point that they join. Sometimes they'll switch sides. Those minor clans will weave throughout the kingdoms. You can then bring them into your clan and they'll stay there from what I believe

@@Baleur for troops and other "regular" units, combat stats are kind of buggy where they don't really affect much, on top of the stats being blatantly wrong on a lot. Some modders have found that when regular troops use a weapon they use a "default" skill rather than the skill that is listed. This is due to testing and bug mitigation. In my digging I have found that all units use a tiered system of stats, meaning all units in the same tier have the same weapon stats. The only exceptions are riding and athletics skills (which are kind of combat skills) which varies unit to unit.

One quick tip about finding the tournaments: if you reach a town and there is no tournament there, just enter the arena and talk to the dude there. You can ask hm if there are any tournaments in nearby cities and he will give you a hint about 2 tournaments in the vicinity. You can do the same after winning a tournament in a city, to figure out where you could go next for one.

@@cragnamorra True & the tournament renown system in Warband is flawed anyway in my opinion. Every 2 or 3 tournaments u win, u acquire enough renown that increases your party limit by 1. During one playthrough I won so many tournaments that my high party limit came almost exclusively from winning tournaments. However, if u don't level your charisma skill & invest perk points in it then you'll have a difficult time managing the moral of your troops & it'll drop quickly. Another dumb feature that I hope isn't in Bannerlord. I haven't tested that out yet in Bannerlord.

If you killed enough of them within that kingdom they should only take 1 coin to make peace with. you can also take other things with that one coin, it is super weird but it works

Nice tutorial. For early trading I recommend players who are in the south look at starting from Quyaz area and sell to Poros area. As your wealth and carry capacity increases, start making it a loop from Quyaz (fish, flax) to Charas (Olives) to Orcs Hall (sell) then pick up random sale items like wood and iron on your way to Poros (sell). This loop run a few times will put you into the 100k wealth range very quickly. Poros and Orcs Hall (Purposely misspelled) always buy high on just about everything so they are good anchors for trade routes. The long trade route is to give time for villages to replenish their coffers.

A guide for trading I think will never be able to be detailed, which I think is great. What I have noticed is consistent though is cheap horses in Aserai and Khuzait lands. Where to sell them is much less stable, just check the prices at every city you go to, you'll eventually be able to sell them. But in my Khuzait Playthrough the Prices of them all over the map are around the double to triple that amount. For example Azerai horses sometimes cost a ridicilous amount of 2500 gold, even though the area has desert horse fiefs and has 2-5 horses in stock. Normally I'm trying to buy imperial chargers, but even they cost more than the typical 300 gold and go for about 600 gold. I'm not sure if the economy is considering you as a player buying all these horses, to inflate the prices of them, or if the production is somehow rigged in my playthrough and that's why the prices are so dumb.
@Matt-um5sb
@Matt-um5sb 4 жыл бұрын
@@Colorado0091 I definitely think they need to do something about warhorse prices and upgrades. Spending 1600 on an aserai horse to upgrade a mameluke regular is crazy. Imperial chargers are far away and too rare to depend on. I don't want to spend half my time making runs to the empire to search for warhorses in between scrambling back to defend my new fief.
@Colorado0091
@Colorado0091 4 жыл бұрын
@@Matt-um5sb Yes, I love and hate playing as a cavelery faction. On one side your units will almost everytime win fights with ease, which are no sieges or totally outnumbered. On the other side, every veteran unit dying is worth over 1000 gold up to 2500. If your Empire is well developed and you have a lot of gold this might not matter, but in a typical midgame it is really hard to afford any deaths. Sometimes you can buy those guys in villages for a lot less, if you are lucky enough, which is also ridicilous.

i guess the amount of aproaches to play this game is endless. i always get the starting gold by doing quest (hidout and poacher ones pay good amounts). also for minor factions i would hunt the stronger ones and recruit their troops. for the aserai the ones you rated 2nd hardest offer you horse archers early on in the game, which are a t5 unit for the aserai so you wont have a lot early on, but i think thats more of a roleplaying thing :D deff. learned a thing or two.

Not sure if this was changed in 1.3 or not however, you cannot take any settlement you wish for the Dragons Banner quest line. Arzagos requires a non-imperial settlement while Istiana requires an imperial settlement. Taking something like Ustokol I'm Sturgia and will not allow you to turn the quest into Istania. Sort of backward thinking as you are weakening your allies.

My issue isn’t starting a kingdom, it’s right after, when your party limit is around 200 and your enemies are all at strength 3000ish or so. When I capture anything they just send an army with 800 troops to take it back, when I imprison a lord he escapes before I can even put him in my city, which they also escape from daily. The escaped lords pull full stacks out of their ass to do it all over again. I mean I could take one fief, immediately pay for peace and repeat but that seems cheesy.

Best tactic to fight against these large armies is to fight them. Let your ranged get some kills and then retreat before melee starts. Their numbers will lower slowly but it'll get to a point where you outnumber them. Rinse and repeat process to fight against large armies.

@brandonweber2133
@brandonweber2133 4 жыл бұрын
@@Bomb-Devil-Reze Currently no, but in Warband you could only retreat a certain number of times before you get captured, and I'm positive they'll implement something to stop this but for the time being there's nothing stopping you except disorganization, which slows down your map movement speed by a very negligible, hardly noticeable amount. Which I'm not entirely sure how it works mechanic wise but It makes sense real world. Personally I like it, I gives battles a bit of a guerilla warfare feel. If taleworlds does put in some sort of preventative measure, I would prefer it if you had to actually get your troops off the battlefield and fallback with them to continue the fight another wave.

Great video. Glad you made a small little mention when you say the smith. Smithing is such a fun part part of the game. Also tournaments, agreed. I had one character that just went from town to town doing tournaments at every town he gets to. I won about a third of them without saving and retrying every time - because I like role playing. The dude had great equipment pretty soon, and then I started betting money on the tournaments as well, can make a ton of money early game. However you might be tempted to save before starting a tournament, which breaks the immersion of the game, and MB is a great game to immersed into for me. So if you don't want to cheese it, just put 150 in the first round which will be 600 winnings if you win. Also not too bad if you lose.

Being a vassal before making your kingdom is a decent strategy as well, I built up 3 castles and 2 cities, got an awesome income, skilled companions, and then split from the kingdom, it immediately started a war because I chose to keep my lands, then you talk with either person for the dragon banner and the war is over. It does carry the risk that you lose quite alot of relations with the faction you left because you kept your fiefs, but if you mooch up to them alot while you're a vassal it can end up still positive, I will admit though that I didn't plan my location well...smack dab in the middle of the northern and southern empires and battania, whoops

they are random so the name and suffixes might not even exist in your game. Also when it comes to companions their character sheet only tells you their current skill level rather than their focus points and growth potential. for example i wanted a strong archer so i got a guy with 180 in bow, highest bow skill at the time in game. turns out he has 2 points in bow which leads to x0.00 exp so he won't level up using it ever, now i'm making him use polearm and throwing so he can level up and so i can put focus points in his bow skills. later i found a guy with 185 bow skill, recruited him and he has 4 points in there, after a little while he's already at 200 bow skill... honestly don't worry too much about getting the best one because they might not have enough focus points to level that skill and end up being surpassed by someone else.

Other than lore (destroying empire and becoming new dominant power vs. rebuilding empire) it’s virtually the same, the only thing that changes is your name. If you go imperial your kingdom is called “Empire of Calradia” I believe. Mechanically, it’s the same. You have to fight the empire either way just the end result lore-wise changes.

Granted, it is the same save as i started on version 1.0.0 so the AI empire snowballing was still bad, so the Southern Empire has conquered half the map. But, its possible to push them back one city at a time. So dont worry about playing slowly. The AI empires can suffer extreme setbacks if they lose a big army, forced to recruit and re-promote their troops from square 1 again. Its not just a continual growth into immortality.
