How to Crimp Terminals and Splices

An introduction to crimping terminal ends on wires and splices to connect wires.
I found that as I started working on projects needing work done with heavy gauge wire that crimping provided a fast and easy solution to reliably connect and terminate wires. This is a useful skill to have when you're connecting to power supplies, other connectors, or circuit boards.

Thanks for all The help some of the videos just rush through showing you how to cramp and scrip wire But nut enough info on it. But u just gave me a whole better way of that work. Love the video

Ratchet crimping tool is the way to go, tbe shown tools are rubbish

2:45 you atually get a better crimp if you flip the connector 180° where the split is facing the hill!

The slit goes opposite the valley. The slit goes on the male part of the crimper. That male part of the crimper is responsible for folding in the slits on the connector to bite into the wire.

What could happen if the slit of the terminal is placed on the ridge of the tool??? Seems better to me.

The crimping tools you showed are rubbish, and are a last resort use only. The best tool to use is a ratchet style crimper. There are many jaws available for different types of crimping requierments...
