So not to sound like a know-it-all, but if you bang it on your counter core side down you'll be able to pull that whole core right out. And unless those outer leaves are not good there's no need to toss them. 😊

For those who complaining about her not washing the lettuce. The purpose of the video is to know how to cut the lettuce for a salad. Not how to make a salad.

Do not cut, tear with hands. Cutting helps to make it spoil faster. Unless it is wedge salad.

@@bernard7057 using metal tends to turn the lettuce red and go bad faster. That’s why most restaurants have a salad knife made for lettuce that won’t cause that to happen so fast

It has nothing to do with cutting actually. It’s using METAL that makes it spoil. This is why you use a lettuce knife. (Hint: they’re plastic) 😉 you’re welcome.

Use a plastic knife to keep the edges from turning brown. Unless, you are using all of it immediately.

Put it all in a big bowl with water and use your hands to swill then drain and pat dry if you want

Use vinegar and water and a strainer check each leaves for bugs or ugly leaves

Not after, before and the upper leaves. Rince in water an couple time and bath it a few minutes in a bowl with a bit of vinager, then I rinse it a last time.
