In this episode we take a 90 gallon tank and do a complete makeover for under $100. We do an aquascape using rock, driftwood and plants plus black sand. We even use backyard weeds that thrive in your aquarium like creeping Jenny and creeping charlie. We make it simple and on a budget made for the average Fisk hobbyist.

Great video Chris, absolutely love the set up. I used blasting sand for many years and like you said is ultra affordable. Creeping Charlie, I believe I have that on my lawn. I'm not sure I'm going to bring the barbs out or not. It's been such a weird spring that my goldfish ebony and spawn properly so I don't know if I'll have time now cuz we're into June and I'm about a half a month behind

You're welcome Chris, this is the third time I changed my channel name, Shubunkin Goldfish Tank is what I originally called my channel when I first started doing youtube many years ago, then I switched the channel name to Mostly Fish when I kind of got out of shubunkins then my channel got taken down for stupid reasons so I made another channel and called it Golden Fish Tank but since 90% of my fish are now Shubunkins again I thought what the heck I might as well use my original channel name again, Shubunkin Goldfish Tank.

Hi there Chris, how are you doing? I have a fish question for you if you don’t mind? We have just put an in-ground mini pond in our garden, it’s only 50 litres (11 gallons) and we have gravel, rocks, marginal plants, a water lily, water lettuce and 2 oxygenated plants. Doesn’t have any filters or pumps and so far is Crystal clear. Main idea is that it’s just a wildlife pond but we are now wondering if it’s possible for us to add any very small fish in there? Or is the pond too small for fish? Have been googling and then thought I’d ask you - my fish expert friend? Any advice would be most appreciated 💜🩵
@stubbsaquatics6080
@stubbsaquatics6080 Ай бұрын
Wow. That will look amazing. 11 gallons is a bit small for fish especially if they are staying in there year round. If they were only staying seasonally you might be able to put a few tropical fish in there like mosquito fish or endlers.. maybe some white clouds... It's really two small for goldfish. Don't you guys get native newts/salamanders that live in small ponds? So happy for you. Can't wait to see it
@TheEnthusiasticGardener
@TheEnthusiasticGardener Ай бұрын
@@stubbsaquatics6080 thanks so much Chris. We didn’t want to add any fish if they are not going to be happy so we won’t. We only have frogs toads and newts over here, no salamanders though. But I’m hoping for frogs 🐸 thanks for your expert help 😊
