About this video: CurseForge is one of the best ways to get mods and modpacks for Minecraft. It makes getting mods and modpacks extremely easy, and you can even create your own custom modpack using CurseForge if you want.
The first step is of course learning how to download CurseForge. You can find a link in the description above that will take you to our complete text guide on getting CurseForge. In this guide, you will see a “Download CurseForge” button. This will take you directly to the CurseForge download page.
On this page, you will see a “Download Standalone” button. Click that, and CurseForge will start downloading.
Once you have CurseForge downloaded, we can move on to how to install CurseForge. This can be done by double click on the CurseForge file you downloaded. From there, click next a few times and accept the terms of service if you agree to them. After that, the CurseForge App will install on your computer.
When CurseForge is finished installing, it will open. To get it ready for Minecraft, just click on “Minecraft”, select “Recommended” and click the “Continue” button. CurseForge will then get things ready for Minecraft.
Now, you can search for modpacks at the top. When you find a Minecraft modpack you want in CurseForge, click the install button on it and it will start downloading. If you navigate back to the “My Modpacks” tab, you can click “Play” on the modpack once it was done. The Minecraft Launcher will open. You can login to it and play Minecraft normally. Except, it will open with the modpack you downloaded.
Going back to CurseForge you can click the “Settings” button in the bottom left. You can select Minecraft here and change the RAM settings, screen resolution and more that you want to add to Minecraft. These can be changed on a per modpack basis in the Minecraft Launcher after it is opened with the Modpack.
You can also use the CurseForge app to browse individual Minecraft mods. When installing mods, you will be prompted to create a new profile or select an existing profile. You can add any of the Minecraft mods you want as long as they work with the version of Forge or Fabric you selected when creating the profile.
This can be a great way to create your own custom modpack with the exact mods that you want. This will show up in your “My Modpacks” and can be opened just like other Modpacks.

Hi I trying to import on of my Java worlds from non modded Java to curse Forge and I keep getting prompted with an error. It’s says errors in currently select the data pack, prevented the world from loading you can either try to load it with the vanilla data pack safe mode or go back to the title screen to fix it. I've been searching high and low I'm trying to make a curseforge SPECIFIC IE skyfactory or any specific modded server form curseforge and I would love it to run in using Linux using Ubuntu 20.04 from my home using putty (locality by port forwarding so friends can play together) I can't find any guides about this I was wondering if you could make a guide about this?

Yes you do need Java for mods

U're probably using low ram in minecraft. Simply go to game specific in curseforge, and max your allocated memory. Only max the memory untill an alert image appears.

I wish I could get this to work. It just keeps saying that forge, fabric, quilt, and neoforge aren't compatible, yet it auto selects which one it wants to use for it. Super dumb on my end I guess

I'm a little confused/concerned about something - I tried this process, got to the launcher, but I noticed that in the version dropdown where it says RLCraft on yours, _yours_ still shows the regular versions of minecraft, while mine only showed the modpack and nothing else. Is that just because Curseforge effectively installed a second version of minecraft, or what?
