Hello, everyone!
You often ask in the comments how to make a crossbow without forging and with a minimum number of tools.
Watch the video and learn how easy it is to make such a crossbow at home.
It is quite powerful and accurate.
You can make it with a minimum of effort and cost for tools and materials.
I will be happy to answer your questions in the comments.
Enjoy the video!

People who make content like this usually have a fully-equipped workshop full of lathes, milling machines etc. so well done for doing this using hand tools - I'm very impressed!

Agreed ! and knowledge to build the thing a bit better !because they have been doing it longer.... this was not a put down of the posters ability it was meant to help improve his crossbow he did a great job using just hand tools I doubt I could do better, but that is not the point, improving the crossbow in the way I described will make it faster and more reliable. I do have a fully equipped workshop for both wood and metal... and I have built crossbows several times and I know what makes them work better. but I don't make videos ! so I help these builders by telling them where they can improve their crossbow.... I know I am not perfect and I don't need you to tell me I am not.... have a nice day !

I love it. Except that string with the metal ferrules. It’s going to break eventually and the side that breaks is going to fly towards your eye. I would add a leather buffer to keep the metal bow from cutting the string and also just tie the string with knots.

🔥 fire harden your arrows tips to increase hardness , making your own bolts using all right features of a large bird to spin right or all left feathers to spin left and natural pine sap heated up as a natural glue to secure your arrow heads .way better than buying bolts.

1. the trigger mech needs to be epoxied in place on both sides to give rigidity to the stock and restrict it's movements. 2. the bow striength is abismal... you can use another bow just like it lashed to the original bow to double it's striength ( if you can cock it with one hand it is just a toy!) (if it takes all your striength with both arms it is at the bottom end of real cross bow power) and a bit less bow in the bow will result in a faster bolt( so it pushes the bolt a bit longer !) 3. the stock bulge at the forward hand rest needs to be longer and deeper to keep your fingers away from the bow string.... you will only make the mistake of getting your fingers hit by the string once ! ( ask me how I know ! it really hurts !) 4. good idea on the burning finish on the stock but now add lots of motor oil to the stock as a preservative. ... your trigger mech. is great but should be rivited together as there is alot of force there and it can twist the plates and jam the trigger...(thrust washers are also a good idea for the pivot points) I made my bow out of 1" PVC pipe with a 1/2" piece of pipe inside it and it is a very strong bow.... the string/cable should rest on top of the bow arms creating less drag on the stock and more speed for the bolt. a cross bow done right, is just as accurate as a rifle, has a flat trajectory for the range you will shoot at. and hits hard enough to sink the bolt 3"~6" into a tree.... which means it will go through a Deer or Human. their great for home defence ! because their silent, hit extremally hard and do not require gunpowder or a license. All in all a very nice build..... make another one with a PVC bow, it will surprise you i am sure!
@makeitlikenew
@makeitlikenew 7 ай бұрын
Thank you for the constructive criticism and great advice for the future I think I will make a crossbow out of a pvc pipe someday and will listen to your advice in the future If you have any advice on my other works, I will be happy to hear your opinion, good luck.

@@makeitlikenewI made almost the same thing once. Your trigger was astronomically better than mine but I used a leaf spring from a truck for my bow. It's hard to pull back (hence my tough ass trigger). Try a leaf spring next time instead of a saw blade. You'll like the power.

That last point depends heavily on where you live. In my country a crossbow is legally classified as a firearm. Second I wouldn't want to use a crossbow in a house because while it'll kill, it won't kill as quickly or as maneuverable as a machete, baseball bat or similar.
@bobkelly2447
@bobkelly2447 Ай бұрын
@@rivencraft1734 that is unfortunate ! but think again if you think a hand tool will kill quickly in most cases it will not. it totally depends on the situation and your luck/skill at getting the implement to target. beating something to death is not fast and easy nor should it be. but if we are talking home defence there is one thing that has proven itself superior to all other forms through the ages...a gun ! in countries where it is illegal for such things to be possessed you are left to rely on the goodness of mankind not to invade your home....and that is foolish. I made this comment to help the poster to see where he can improve the design to make the crossbow better, i am sorry some people took that as criticism but some people always will look for the worst in others . it would be a great thing if we could all try to help one another instead of bitch at one another.... but I suppose that is the nature of man a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.... using a crossbow in a house is indeed risky I agree but if you have nothing else but a bat it's a better choice !.... and if it's a home invasion scenario, a bit more pain is inconsequential. i do not think being nice to thieves will help anyone, the only thing they respect is the fear of death.
