I remember as a little girl growing up in L.A. in the 70s. We had a kumquat tree, and I loved picking them right off the tree to eat. They were my favorite.

I grew up eating kumquats. I bite off the tip where the stem was, suck out the juice, and if you sqeeze it, the seeds will come out. Then pop the rest of it in your mouth and eat it whole! Yum.

Eating them whole with the bitters makes them sweeter, they're far to sour to be eaten peeled, and the seeds are a safe size for the digestive tract

Love watching your videos to help me decide if I want to eat a new fruit. And I love sharing your nutrition facts with my friends as I share the new and different fruits I have eaten. Most people I have shared the kumquat with love it. I even had to go buy a pack for my 13 year old niece she loved them. Most kids won't try new and different things. And I love love love dragon fruit. I have eaten them every day at work so far for two weeks now...lol.

Oh these are so good. I love the outer skin, it's sweet and full of citrus oil flavor. The inside is tart and juicy and the contrast when eaten whole.. excellent!

they have them at the grocery store we go to now :) its one of the best fruits ive had. I dont think the flavor is like lemon or lime but it is sour like them, the only difference in a kumquat is that luckily its sour for 5 seconds but lemons are always sour lol. I love these things !

Not bad. Just tried one for the first time. A bit of an acquired taste but I could get to like these. First time I've seen them in a store in my 50 years. Always heard of them, never seen them...til today in Wisconsin.

What are you doing?!! The peel is the best part! Most of the time I don't even eat the inside. I just bite off the sweet flavorful peel. Here is a challenge to you. If you ever cut a bunch up for jam you will have some juice as a result. Drink it. It taste nothing like a Kumquat. It is just citric acid.

Im 29 years old and I never seen a kumquat before in my life. I seen them in the store and I said "God will punish the people that did that to his oranges and grapes. Mating them together, that's not natural, like making a weird breed of dog like the labra-doodle." lol

I tasted my first kumquat three days a ago my cousin brought them back from his home in Florida , I had heard of them but never tasted them they are pretty good. At first I didn't believe him when said to eat the whole thing

For a sweeter and less tart experience, nibble the end off and squeeze the juice out, which is the bitter part, and then eat the remaining fruit.

Just got these from the supermarket in Finland, they taste some much better when eaten whole :) before I watched this video I tried to peel one like an orange and it was messy and tasted bitter.

I would love to eat the peel but worried about whether pesticides are used. Would soap and water do?

I ended up here because my son randomly said that the word kumquat is uncomfortable and almost sounds disrespectful 😂 A few Google searches later and here we are.

i have heard of these, but never tasted. I was born and raised in the southern u.s. Never saw them before though.

I tried some for the first time the other day. They were extremely acidic, like limes. Was that unusual and possibly due to an issue with the tree and growing conditions ... or is that how they are normally? Thanks.
