Thanks for the info but if the source files are not already in 4k and you try and export in 4k with the 265 method, it will not allow me to do this. Once I select H265 it defaults back to my standard 1920x1080

Under the Format options, make sure you have "match source" selected. By default, this should be set to "match source", but you might have it changed before for some reason. I tried this with my 1980 ×1080 video resolution but instead of it encoding through hardware it automatically switched to Software Encoding at it became too slow.
