Thank you for speaking about the importance of infection control I feel like some people over look that I once was in a working interview with a dentist who didn't wear gloves alot, I especially remember him putting ortho brackets on a patient without gloves and using his ungloved finger to hold the bracket in the patients mouth while he cured it, and gosh it was touching the patients saliva.... I ran far away and didn't take that job!

Hello 🌞 Happy that I found your channel! I have a question to ask. This year I was diagnosed with periodontal disease. I recently got on to my 3 month maintenance program and my gums are now in great shape. My question is since I have periodontal disease do I need to brush and floss after each meal or can I get away with flossing just once or twice a day? Right now I’m flossing 3 , but I don’t want to over do it. My diet is a balanced one and I supplement as well, but I do like to have carbs and sweets.

hey friend! thank you for watching and commenting! my best advice in that situation is to ask the dentist or dental hygienist - for they know your individual mouth and what your home care routine should be for you! hope this helps! keep rocking that maintenance! so important :)

Is the thank you note should be for the whole office or just the ones who interviewed me. Also I’m thinking about shadowing this summer, and I thought a thank you note at the end of the shadowing journey with the office would be a nice gesture. So should I give the thank you note to whom I shadowed or for the whole office for accepting to let me shadow?

Ok this is a question thats kind of un related to the video, but i'm curious. Let's say you just graduated, got your license, and are ready to start working but you decide you want to move out of state. When applying to get a license in another state will you be rejected from getting a license because you have no prior work expirence? I think a moving as a RDH would be an interesting video! Idk just a thought :)

My office manager, on my 6th day of work, sat me down while a patient was there and yelled “dont you forget I’m your boss not the other way around so when i tell u to do something you do it right then and then this aint no McDonalds job” all while pointing her finger in my face and nodding her head from side to side. All that bc i asked if we could sit a patient in a different room than she had originally suggested.

I am a new grad and have been at my new office for nearly 3 months. The dentist was trying to get me to come in a lot before starring for “training” but said it was unpaid. Also there are a lot of extra jobs like doing laundry, calling/ messaging patients to fill out health history that are not paid. The doctor requires meeting every month no pay and wants us to get there early to look over pt charts and do sterilization but also not paid. Is that legal?

Anything is possible if you put effort and have passion for it.I would say get more experience first . Could be by being a dental assistant or simply shadowing for some time.

If they ask you to clock out Every time a patient no-shows or cancels, that is not going be a good office to be in in my opinion. They will nickel and dime you and not work as hard to fill the schedule because they know they can just dock your pay. I think that’s asking for trouble. You’ll be seen as disposable.
