As an assistant that just left a toxic office - these are GREAT questions! IMHO, especially the working interview part. Good way to find out if you'll end up getting stuck somewhere that overpromises and under delivers. Will definitely be adding these to my list, thanks!

Just left a horrible office. They used my op to do a procedure which I had set up for my next patient after my lunch break. I had to wait 30 min because no other ops were available. Also double booking patients all the time. And they paid me less than what the usual rate is.

Hi! Can you make a video on what to expect during a new patient, SRP, and recall appointment for every dental office in general?

You mentioned in one of your previous videos that we need to wait one hour after eating to brush our teeth. Does that depend on the type of food you have eaten or should you wait one hour after consuming any type of food? I had heard previously that you should wait one hour after consuming acidic foods like lemon, orange juice or soda.

you should wait at least 30 mins to brush after any food, because food/drinks will change the pH of your mouth. Every time we eat our teeth go through a demineralization and remineralization process. So, remineralization occurs during those 30 mins. We wait because the toothpaste and brushing motion can potentially damage the enamel if done right after eating when are teeth are in demineralization phase. We always want to protect our enamel which is the outer surface of our teeth, the white part. You should definitely rinse with water after eating to remove any leftover acid from your food/drink! which helps to neutralize the acids in your mouth and decrease the chances of demineralization (caries formation) in the long run. Hope this helps =)

Can you talk about working interviews more? I’ve known may hygienists not to be paid and put in uncomfortable situations.

It's this a flexible job? like when you want to go out on vacation for a month or two, can your boss or your company allow you to get days off for the holiday?

if it's the BURST that you're talking about - then yes! I am an ambassador to their company because I really do like the toothbrush and use it myself :) I switch off and use lots of toothbrushes! Lately my go-to's are sonicare, oral-b, and BURST!

do you need to wash your teeth if you dont eat? (you dont eat during the night, so no need to wash in the morning?)

even if you don’t eat at night, you do need to brush your teeth in the morning. over the night your teeth accumulate plaque and bacteria that can be just as bad to have sitting on your teeth as food debris from the night before. hope this helped!

@@tayloruxuii how can they accumulate plaque and bacteria, if there is no food in your mouth?
@tayloruxuii
@tayloruxuii 2 жыл бұрын
@@genadimaxi5287 everybody always has A LOT of bacteria in your mouth due to your salivary glands always producing saliva and your mouth being a perfect environment (good temperature and moist) for bacteria to thrive and reproduce. throughout the night these bacteria in your mouth do just that, multiply and grow, which causes plaque to build up on your teeth. these bacteria also cause a bad odor and an unpleasant taste. so brushing your teeth in the morning rinses out those bacteria that have built up overnight and, in turn, rinse away that bad odor and foul taste.
