Great vid - it's good to show the amount of fiinessing it takes to dial the action/hammer back in. You're assertive with what you are doing - keep forging ahead is a good idea.

All you had to do was reem out the original flange and put a bigger center pin.Done it thousands of times.Time is money and no need for new flanges.

It's called a Jack Holding tool. It's a spring that sits between the jack and the let-off button to hold the jack away from the butt screw.

how can i fix a hammer that has come detached from the bottom (but is still attached to another part with a string?) i got myself a second hand upright piano but can't find any videos showing how to fix it (i don't even know how to take it out in the first place)

When a piano hammer detaches from the bottom if the hammer shank is still in good condition you can glue it back on with PVCE glue specifically for pianos but it can still be a tricky job to perfectly be straight what I usually do is I look at the grooves in the hammer felt and after I glue it back in the action I want line the grooves with the strings and hold it for a few seconds but if your piano is really old it’s probably better to contact your local Piano technician

What happens when the hammer does not reset to its resting position? I looked and nothing seemed broken nor loose nor lacking any spring/parts. Just baffles the mind. Also can the sustain pedal rod be repaired as its tip is rusted and broken off? Or does it need to be replaced completely? Where do you even get parts like that? What's the cost?

Most cases if you have a really old piano sometimes the wood can swell and the action will lose its quality of performance I have a Piano that has the same problem and yes the pedal rod can be replaced but you will have to probably contact your local Piano technician because that will be something that will have to be measured with certain tolls and sent in to be custom-made

The price will vary on the size of the rod and the parts needed in the action piano technicians will usually charge $100 for a Tuning depending on the piano

What do you do if in using the broaching tool you go too far and it gets a little loose? Assuming you can't use a larger pin, is there a way to fatten the bushing, or do you have to redo it?

Hey why does my hammers go sticking on the strings 😢. It goes and not coming back and the key sticks too 😅 and no sound. What are your thoughts about uneven hammers.

There can be multiple different reasons for sticking hammers most of the time there is a screw on the back of the key called the capstan if that capstan is too loose it will raise not allowing the hammer to drop after the key is pressed but I do not have a definite answer you will have to contact your local Piano technician.
