I'm not 100% sure, but I think that once the pot is cleaned then the actuator starts to act like normal. The code that shows up in VCDS doesn't prevent the car from trying to operate the actuator. And if my memory is correct I didn't have to clear the error. As soon as the actuator was working VCDS stopped telling me that it was having an issue.

Do you have video on how to open dashboard to look for actuator. I wasnt getting air at the front mirror and was told i need to replace actuator on both driver and passenger seat

It's been awhile since I did that repair. Im sure I did measure it, but I don't remember what the resistance was. If it was out of the expected range I would have mentioned it in the video. And the actuator is still working properly.

Hi. 4.7k ohm. You can get these potentiometer for a few dollar as compared to crazy price for the actuator

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I’ve just returned to the default world. I had to remove the glove box and that’s it. It can have differing amount of screws depending on how the car was built. Mine had Qty-9 eight mm screws. Then an electrical connector on the back.
