I need help, my LT button it broken because the springs fell in the inside of the controller and you can hear it when you shake the controller, if there’s no springs on the inside, but the trigger is still there and on just fine, will this still work?

I had such an odd issue. My Left Trigger was only activating half way and I couldn't find anyone else with that issue. I watched this as a general guide and immediately found the issue once I opened my controller all the way. Something was strange, when I took off the left cover I noticed the screw near the top was missing. I bought this new and never taken it apart before. It all made sense when I got to the trigger. Somehow the screw came loose and was caught by the magnet on the trigger, preventing the trigger from being fully pressed. Makes a lot of sense now. Put the screw in it's rightful spot and all is well.

yo i had the same problem on my new controller it worked fine for two months and then the right trigger started giving me problems i looked so hard but i couldnt find any solutions after i read your comment i checked the screws on my controller turns out one of the screws near the right trigger was loose and not screwed in properly i tightened it and now it works like a charm

The LT/RT trigger are working in magnetism which is great. They should it done also on L/R Buttons as well because the micro switches are sucks for just a couple of clicks and they are hard to replace.

I’m trying to fix my cousin’s controller, I managed to get it to turn on again but the joysticks are forcing the cursor to shoot to the left at all times. Open the controller and check what is blocking it. Also if the controller was open before, it could be the metal pins for the batteries that are getting in the way.

oh shoot i thought this would help me but i guess i have a newer model, no magnets in this case, the triggers are attached to potentiometers and mechanically it works well, also measuring right resistance but no reaction from controller. got a video on this?

I have an issue I can't seem to fix. Basically my right trigger sometimes makes a different sound to the left one when pressed. It doesn't make than cushioned rubber noise it's more like a hard plastic contact noise. It's not there all the time neither. I've noticed when I use the vibrate option in my console settings it goes away for a bit and also I have to play while holding the controller up right so the noise doesn't come back. It's very strange and I've got not clue what it could be. I've taken it apart and don't see anything out of the ordinary and it looks the same as the left one. Nothing looks broken or out of place. Do you think it's possible that the trigger is hitting the actual motherboard so it's making that plastic sound? And because there's nothing under it, it makes a move noticeable noise compared to the left one. The left seems to have stuff underneath it so the noise isn't happening on that side. I'm on Xbox by the way. This is driving me insane and I've tried everything. Please help!!!

Yo I was wondering if you have found a fix yet because it's the same with my controller lb is making a normal noise however rb is making a noise like its about to come off or something I have opened up the controller multiple times to see if I can fix it but I don't see what's happening, have you found a fix yet?

@@zackgardner1990 I haven't fixed it but I think I know what the issue is. It looks like it's the rubber strip that's attached to the bottom half of the controller that the triggers touch when you press them down. I ended up just buying a knew one. You can do on the Microsoft site and report the issue and can send it back then they'll send you a new one.

The magnet could have drop on the hall effect sensor ? Otherwise, it's probably a problem with the hall effect sensor and it need to be replace (or something is interfering with it).

The problem with the hall effect sensor is that they don't sell replacement parts for it. If your trigger is not activate fully, it could also be that the frame is bent a little bit and that the magnet is just a bit too close to the motherboard.

@@robertmonty5581 Sometimes the frame of the controller is bent which bring the magnet closer to the board and activate the trigger. If you try to hold/push it up, does it desactivate the trigger ?

I didn't have the opportunity to work on such an issue unfortunately. To make some test, you could try to remove the bumpers (LB and RB) to get the RT away from the motherboard. Then you can press the LT trigger to see if it's still doing the issue. If it's still doing it, it is a problem somewhere on the motherboard. It could be the hall effect sensor but I am unsure about it.

Alright man, hear me out so basically I was playing NASCAR heat 5 right? And Busch pulls out in front of me and I spin out and crashed losing the Daytona 500, so I through my controller at the wall and my left bottom trigger got jammed and this magnetic piece came out of it and now it's not working so basically what do I do now?

I have a green pdp wired controller and it’s completely unresponsive I got a q tip with rubbing alcohol and cleaned and still nothing I dropped it and it never was the same again this was the left trigger

Try to find a guide online for your controller on how to open it and try to judge if you have the skill to do it. If you only need to put the magnet back in place, this should not be too hard

My magnets are perfectly fine and in place. The entire circuit board is clean and healthy, no cold solders etc. Everything looks good but the right trigger is acting as though it is pressed all the time. I cannot figure it out.

Did you check inside the controller to see where the magnet is ? Did you spill something on your controller ? You can also try to clean the location where the magnet goes on the motherboard with IPA.

Just had this exact problem and glued it back in and it’s still not working. Does the orientation of the magnet have to be a certain side up or down? There is a tiny divot in the middle of one of the sides of the magnet.

You can try the magnet on the other side of the controller (on LT or RT) to know if it work correctly (you can test the controller while it's open by using it with a wire). If it work on one side but not on the other, there is probably a problem with the hall effect sensor.

Is it always activate just a little bit in ? Also, if it's fully activate, the magnet could have drop on the hall effect sensor ? Otherwise, it's probably a problem with the hall effect sensor and it need to be replace (or something is interfering with it).

Hi, I'm using a wired 3rd party Xbox 360 controller, but after I got it fixed last. The LT button now stays ON no matter what. I've opened it up twice, but can't figure out what's wrong. PLEASE HELP

@@zayntwala9909 it all depends how the triggers work on your controller (are they using magnet, conductive pad and conductive film, etc.)

I rarely charge for services. I usually buy broken items and resell. For this kind of thing, I would probably charge 20 $ CAD as it's a simple fix.

Hi is there a way to fix my triggers on my controller?. I am using what I think was a Razor X Controller (Corded RGB controller). It currently has an issue with the left trigger where it automatically activates the trigger button without me even touching the button in question. Asking because this has gotten me killed so many times with this controller on most of my games. And it's very frustrating to deal with. I have 2 controllers with this same issue.

@@slimsbtw Especially annoying when your trying to run after someone or if your trying to dart around the corner to get to cover to heal. Or if your trying to work on camo challenges that require hipfire kills.

Bro mine is doing the same thing. In the controller tester in Xbox settings it says my left trigger is constantly being pressed down it’s so annoying.

Well I freaked out and dropped a big ass tub of dr pepper on my controller and for a whole day now if just been drowning my controller with rubbing alcohol and once I did that another button started having drift so I kept doing it until I realized my trigger was pressing on it's own so I'll see if this helps

Is the magnet still correctly in place ? You compare it with the one on the other side. The magnet could also be too close to the motherboard. If you can't find anything wrong, it's probably a motherboard problem or the hall effect sensor.
