Nobody told me that having short natural hair will be so stressful to Handel...had permed hair for as long as i can remeber and did the big chop last month..... With this short hair .....dont have words...cant wait for it to grow back.

I did the porosity test already knowing i had low porosity hair but i tried it anyway. My hair was just floating at the top just chilling. I was like can you please sink to the bottom it would be so much easier but it didn't😂😭

I don't agree with the hair typing. 2 people could have the exact same hair type and not be able to use the same products. My hair HATES heavy products, alcohol, is sensitive to protein but prefers moisture and oils over gels/custard. Give it what it likes, leave out what it don't and focus on technique.

Great tips! I just want to say though, that the hair typing isn't really necessary it's a good idea but not a must. Anybody can have more than one hair type in their hair in different areas of their head. So just learning your hair and noticing how it responds to different products, hair tools, etc should help grow and retain the hair on our crowns. TFS!!

Going natural doesn't work for anyone, so it's better to try products, and see how they work on your hair. You've got to have a lot of patience, and dedication to take care of your hair when going natural. This is something that you really have to think about seriously. I admire you for how you're handling your beautiful hair! 😀

You don't really need to know your curl pattern. All it tells you is that your hair doesn't look like someone elses. Hair care is about porosity and density. Knowing you curl pattern doesn't necessarily tell you how to take care of your hair

Nononono it really does help ✋🏿✋🏿 If you follow people with 3a hair and you're 4c, you're going to be discouraged. You'll wish your hair would curl like that or bounce like that. And most products work for looser hair types and won't work for yours. This is coming from a 4c hair girl that tried the Jessie curls stuff 💯
@Xoxo_m7

I agree with what you said about the denman brush! I tried it once to see what the hype was about it and all it did was pull out my hair! It especially isn't good for 4c hair like mine.

I have an idea, I haven't seen this done yet: instead of just talking, how about you talk and show how it should be done the proper way. I am someone that sometimes need visual representation, and I think that would be really helpful. Just compile a vid over months showcasing your regiment, what you use and so forth. I think that would be really helpful.

If you have new growth, are you saying that you still have a perm? If so, you won't know what type of curls you truly have, how your hair behaves and reacts, or your texture until you cut off all the permed hair. Then you'll be able to evaluate all of that.
