Want to SCALE your business? Go here: acquisition.com
Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

Being a KZfaqr is very similar to running your own business. You should upload things people want to see, just like businessman should offer product/service that people need. And when the growth becomes real, you can consider hiring people to help you run your channel more efficiently. The most difficult part is starting and growing of course, but consistency and hard work (with a little bit of help from Fame -ster of course) will always pay off at the end.

3:12 Focus on the process Whenever you see some outcome you stop the activity - means you don't have a trait of consistency The reason you're not there where you want to be, because you can't do things repeatedly. Good stuff, and really true. My podcast in not this popular (not even close), but I'm doing mine consistently almost 2 years now. The funny thing is that for almost one and a half years I've had basically 0 listeners. Basically I did it for myself, but actually the goal was the activity. I wanted to learn how to create content via podcast, the tech stuff, and got to a point where I called in my first guest. From that point everything is changed. Of course my guest shared the show, and recommended others to talk stuff about, so that brought in more connections, spotlight and so on. This started a snowball effect. Consistency is key, and the important part is the activity, so good stuff, and really true.

One of the best videos I've seen on growth. Consistency!! 1.5 years of youtube here just hit 2k subs. Just having fun and enjoying the process.

Definitely needed to see this. I've been guilty of stopping when I've seen a tiny bit of success. This will be a video I rewatch.

Thank you for sharing your experiences and perspective! I am relatively new to podcasting, just released my 137 episode, but still trying to figure out all of the things you mentioned you went through early on. I'm just trying to maintain consistency and learn and grow along the way. Great video!

Wouldn’t say 137 episodes is “relatively new” but keep up the grind!

@@Kurie thank you for the encouragement! Haha yes, “relatively” compared to 400+ episodes. I definitely can relate to Alex saying you are still learning and fine tuning your style during the first 150 episodes

Consistency isn't just doing something repetitively, it's about doing something despite not seeing progress, results and even in the face of failure

This is so true. Almost at 18 months, I've hit episode 48 on my podcast and I'm not stopping. The views barely hit triple digits, but that's okay! I enjoy the process and I can honestly see myself doing this for decades.

I have the consistency it’s the rest I’m not sure how to do. I have been writing every day for over ten years, painting for four years every day, a podcast, a book, website, and now a KZfaq channel. Never giving up 😊🎉

After starting my channel almost a year ago myself I can definitely attest to this. It's been mainly a desensitisation process of getting used to talk to a camera (I actually used to shy away from cameras). For the first 6 months I only had 20 subscribers (mainly just friends) now I have 55!! Ha! Which is almost triple! Kinda laughable, but I try to see it as a positive, everyone has to start somewhere right 😅😉 My general view is so long as you're enjoying the process and learning about yourself then even if the channel doesn't grow you're still winning

Funny. We all instinctively know this. But typically we seem to be desperately searching for the “Easy Button” and overlook the “plant, cultivate and then finally harvest” process

I discovered Alex just a view days ago and after watching some videos I really have to say: I gained 2-3 immensely important thoughts that will bring me closer n my path waaaaay further along then all of the motivational content I consumed throughout the last years. Now I also internalised what Alex talks about in a lot if his videos. Thank you Alex! 🫂✋🏻
