Train with me on my app doing my actual weekly program | 7-Day Free Trial | $8.99/mo 📲 www.myliftfitness.com/training-app IMPORTANT INFO ➡️ This all comes down to the origin and insertions of the different fibers of the traps. Here’s the breakdown for you: UPPER TRAPS | the fibers run horizontally and therefore help to retract the scapulae (as shown in the first 3 exercises of the video - to varying degrees I suppose) MID TRAPS | the fibers run horizontally AND have some fibers that run more vertically. Therefore they help to elevate the scapulae (like on a traditional standing DB shrug - how much this occurs may depend on exactly how you do them I suppose) as well as retract the scapulae (like the first 3 exercises shown in this video) LOWER TRAPS | the fibers run more vertically. They originate on the spine & insert on the lower portion of the scapula. Therefore, they help depress the scapulae (pull them downward) which is what happens on an exercise like the final one I show here - the standing plate raise - when the arms need to be pulled back overhead Massive credit to Paul Carter here. He’s a wealth of knowledge & his content has been helpful to me. Particularly in my understanding of the fiber orientation of both the upper traps & mid traps. If you do not follow him, do so. His IG is LiftRunBang1

The Bible says that no one is a good person. We have all broken God's law the 10 commandments, we have all committed, lies, adultery, idolatry, and blasphemy. We deserve hell, but because of what Jesus did on the cross we can be forgiven. So if you Repent of your sins, change your wicked ways, and put your faith in Christ you will be written in the book of life. 👌 🙏Repentance is reviewing one's actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to and actual actions that show and prove a change for the better..

I agree that the kelso shrugs are an underutilized exercise, but a standing shrug is also effective for building the traps because the traps help control all shoulder movements, whether its up, down, forward, or back.
@DavisDiley

They sure do! You’re absolutely right. Upright shrugs are not a bad choice for the mid trap fibers. Just not the upper trap fibers (mistake I made in the past)

@drew63215
@drew63215 Жыл бұрын
Really?? I don't call them that but I always incorporate a lean when doing shrugs. You can also do shrugs as if you were doing spider curls on an incline bench. Trap muscles fan out from your lower neck to your shoulders, so you have to hit them at that angle. Use a cable machine and stand sideways. Put the handle about calf muscle height. Take a step away. Your arm will be at about a 30 degree angle. Shrug up and pull in. Now you're hitting the upper Traps in the direction they flow.
